22.01.2022 Breaking: All people who are non-essential travellers entering Tasmania will now be quarantined for 14 days. This will start from midnight Friday the 20th of March. "The quarantine period will not apply to essential travellers such as health care workers, emergency workers, defence personnel, air and ship crew, specialists, and essential freight personnel (truck drivers/spirit freight), and there will be stringent guidelines to manage this.... Travel restrictions do not apply to Tasmanian residents on our islands, such as King and Flinders, flying into mainland Tasmania. However they will apply to anyone travelling inbound to the island from mainland Australia including residents returning home to the island. Mainland Australians flying into our islands then onto mainland Tasmania will need to self- quarantine when they arrive." 19.01.2022 Breaking There are currently two cases of coronavirus being investigated in the Devonport and surrounding area to find the source of the transmission. One being... the health worker at the Mersey Community Hospital and a new case of a person in the community. It is advised that residents in the Devonport & Surrounds area practice social distancing, good hygiene and avoid unnecessary travel. Avoid leaving your home unless you need to go to work, shopping, exercise or attend urgent matters. 13.01.2022 Breaking: The prime minister just made the following closure and limitations announcements relating to Coronavirus: Please note that closures will come into act...ion midnight tomorrow Closures: - Amusement parks and arcades - Indoor and outdoor play centres - Community and recreation centres, health clubs, fitness centres, yoga, barre, spin facilities, saunas, wellness centres, boot camps - Social, sporting-based activities, swimming pools - Galleries, museums, national institutions, historic sites, libraries, community centres, nonessential facilities, community facilities such as halls and PCYCs - Food courts in shopping centres will no longer be able to continue, though takeaway can continue - Auction houses, gathering in auction rooms - Beauty therapy, tanning, waxing, nail salons and tattoo parlors Limitations: - Personal training & boot camps are limited to a maximum of 10 people - Weddings will be limited to five people and funerals to 10 people. - Hairdresser appointments are limited to 30 minutes Outdoor and indoor markets will be addressed specifically in individual states and territories Also international travel will soon be banned. These closures will sadly result in more job losses.

The states have also agreed to restrict restaurants and cafes to take away only.... "All states and territories instead agreed to shut: licensed sections of pubs and hotels, clubs, casinos, entertainment venues, indoor sporting venues and indoor places of worship.
