03.01.2022 Wow, what a great Saturday at the Don yesterday. It was fantastic being back at the home of the Bulls showing off the redevelopment and playing in front of a great home crowd. Yesterday concluded all our junior programs for 2020 with a BBQ for all our juniors. We had a great year of juniors with our Get into Rigby program taking off for its second year. We had more participants come each week and you could not wipe the smiles off all the participants face each session. We al...so started our high school 7s roster with the help of Marist Regional college and The Burnie Emus who brought over teams each week for our juniors to play. This year we had 15 new U14s and 10 U16 join our club. They played and trained for 8 weeks and had a massive day of rugby at the Northern Rampage a few weeks ago. We are so proud of our juniors and loved seeing the Junior Bulls play some fantastic rugby over the 8 weeks. We would like thank Jame Hourigan for coming on as the clubs development officer this year and helping run all our junior programs, including coaching the U16. We would also like to thank Donna and Jerry Scott for all their help each Friday night. Without them the program just wouldn’t have been as successful as it was. And finally thank you to all the senior players that have helped with Juniors all year. Thank you to our many sponsors and life members for continuing to support the club in more ways than we can thank you for. We are fortunate to have great sponsors and life members at the club who year in year out give whatever they can to keep us going and for that we are eternally grateful. Finally your What the Fork - Mobile Catering Van Devonport Bulls sealed their spot in the Grand Final on Saturday the 17th of October with their hard fought win over a strong Taroona Penguins. As always both teams put in a passionate and physical performance and left it all on the field. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered your time so far to help the club and all those who have supported us all season, the senior players cannot thank you enough. But we still need your support for one last game this season so lock it in your diaries because we need all the Bulls family Hobart in 2 weeks. More information about a supporters bus will come out in the coming days. GO BULLS!!

02.01.2022 What a fantastic day in Launceston with over 100 boys and girls aged 11-16 playing in the Northern Rampage festival. Our U14 were fantastic all day playing in two games against Burnie and the South. In their first game, the Junior Bulls were fantastic in defence with some amazing try saving tackles. When they had the ball they continually worked hard to protect the ball and the forwards did a great job hitting the ball up, setting up some great try opportunities for the backs.... Game one - Devonport 10 lost to Burnie 15 Game two - Devonport 12 lost to South 23 The Northern U16 side combined Devonport, Burnie and Launceston U16 players to play a strong southern side. It was their first time playing together and they played some hard rugby. The boys were able to string a number of phases together when they had the ball and made some great runs. Although they were unable to score in either of their games the brand of Rugby they played was enjoyable to watch. Game one - North 0 lost to South 36 Game two - North 0 lost to South 45 We would like to give a massive thank you to Oliver Crawford who drove one of the vans down for the team and the Refereed 6 games of Rugby. Without Oli there today we could not have played any of the games. Thank you to Ash Lowery and Nipper for coming along and helping Coach both the U14 and U16 teams. The boys were lucky to have two great players helping them today. Well done to James Hourigan who was coach of the U16 team. He has been working hard with them for the last 5 weeks preparing for this weekend and he did a great job coaching them all day. Lastly thank you to Nic Robertson who orchestrated the whole day and with out his efforts would not have happened and also to Launceston Rugby Club for providing the venue for the day. The future is bright for Junior Rugby and the Devonport Bulls. We are so proud of all the boys that represented the club today. Their spirit and sportsmanship all day was second to none.
