09.01.2022 The Cradle Coast Cat Tracker project Cats are the second most popular pet in Tasmania and they play an important role in the lives of many Tasmanians, but where do cats go when they run out of the door in the morning? Do they visit lots of other properties or do they cross any busy roads? Cradle Coast NRM team, in collaboration with the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment, are running a cat tracker project between November 2020 to February 2021 to ...unravel the mystery. The Project will follow the movements of 20 cats for nine days each, using a light-weight GPS tracker, attached to a cat harness. This will show where the felines go when they leave the protection of the home. You can get involved by volunteering your Cradle Coast cat to be tracked. 08.01.2022 Media Release: Inclusive playground now open Devonport’s first public, all-inclusive playground was officially opened on Monday 30 November 2020 at the Devonport Bluff. $42,160 was received from the Tasmanian Community Fund to install play equipment pieces designed to develop children’s physical, social, cognitive and sensory abilities. An additional $6,000 was contributed by the Rotaract Club of Central Coast TAS and $4,000 from the Devonport Rotary Club. Council provided $4...5,000 towards the project. The Eucalyptus ovata (black gum) are flowering at the moment at Kelcey Tier attracting the swift parrot (Lathamus discolor) one of the numerous species of birds in the reserve. ...
