25.01.2022 Today we hosted the WAG state Development squad training, this was the first event at our club and our first opportunity to show our new gym off to the rest of the State. Teah , Mia, Allie, Ellody and Ruby had a fantastic day, thankyou to Susanne and Charlotte for all your help this afternoon and thankyou to the visiting coaches for your time. I am sure that gymnasts and coaches all learnt something new today, and our bonus is being home early and not having to travel back from Hobart . Safe travels to all those travelling home

23.01.2022 Last weekend our members of the State Development Squad attended training in Hobart . All girls trained hard and made some good skill profession . They also sat in on a session with a sports dietician and learnt about Go, Glow and Grow foods. They also got to make their own smoothie. Well done , Ruby, Ellody, Teah, Mia and Allie .

21.01.2022 Just a reminder that during the cold nights and mornings at the gym, we encourage gymnasts to wear tight fitted clothing to keep warm especially for our later classes. Gymnasts can wear tights, long sleeve tops, long sleeve leotards, thermals anything that is tightly fitted as long as it has no zips. Rug up and keep warm!

Our new equipment has arrived consisting of wall padding for the trampoline area, end decks and mats for the trampolines and everything we need to fit out our channel pit ( this is currently hidden under the floor in the bar area). If you have a Hilti or cordless drill please bring it along . When - This Monday 2nd November Time -10am onwards ... Please let us know in the comments section if you are able to help

12.01.2022 What a fantastic day for Devonport Gymnastics Club! Today was our in house competition , our Level 7 gymnasts all officially graded and there were many personal bests and fantastic performances from all levels. A huge thankyou to all of our coaches and judges, without you days like this would not be possible . Today was also the official opening of our new facility . Thankyou to all of our VIP guests , past coaches and life members for attending. It was a very special day celebrating our gymnasts and a wonderful new venue that we are immensely proud of . Thankyou to all of the wonderful volunteers today you are all greatly appreciated . We only wish more of you could have been there to celebrate with us but due to covid restrictions our numbers were limited.

12.01.2022 Dear Devonport Gymnastics Families, It was just over two weeks into operating in our new facility that Covid restrictions required us to close our doors. That was 11 long weeks ago! The exciting news is that as of June 15 we will be opening our doors for limited classes. While we would love to be able to offer classes for all of our members it is just not possible to do this and meet all of the COVIDSafe requirements until stage 3 restrictions. For stage 2 we are allowed no ...more than 20 people in the gym at any given time (excluding staff). Spectators at this stage will not be allowed. For the stage 2 restriction period we will be running classes for competitive programs. This will make it easier to get things running smoothly ready for the return of all of our remaining classes. It will allow our coaches and administration to sort out any problems with our plans and timetables prior to restrictions being lifted to stage 3 . We are hoping stage 3 restrictions will be implemented sooner than the current planned date of July 13th. Once we move to stage 3 we will be able to welcome back all of our gymnasts. Wednesday online classes will continue until this time. Over the past few weeks we have been preparing and implementing plans for hygiene practices and policies to ensure the safety of our members and staff, this information will be sent out via email once it is finalised so families have them in preparation for returning. When we reopen there will be changes to our programs and the responsibilities of the club, gymnasts and families. 10.01.2022 Classes return June 29th we cant wait to welcome you all back!! We have made a few changes in the gym to comply with COVID-19 regulations and guidelines. This information has been sent out to all members of the club, please make sure this information is passed onto gymnasts before they return to class. If you have not yet confirmed your child is returning to gymnastics, please contact the gym to let us know so that they dont miss out on a place in their class. ... Class timetables have changed slightly to ensure we meet COVID-19 guidelines in regards to space and flow of classes. This information has been sent out to all members of the club. It is very important that gymnasts arrive to class on time and are picked up on time as we need to allow for flow of classes and the number of people entering and exiting the gym at a time. Gymnasts will need to be collected from the main car park and CANNOT leave without a parent at the door to collect them. This is to ensure the safety of our members and our staff. We understand if people are running late to pick their children up, but ask that you contact us so we are aware. Our coaches cant wait to see you all soon!! 08.01.2022 The countdown is on !! Tomorrow we commence regular classes after 14 long weeks ! We have made some changes to the way we do things and have included a little video to explain what gymnasts will need to do when they arrive and leave gym. ... We would love parents to show it to their gymnasts to prepare them for their return. Parents please be aware that we cant send children through the car park unattended so you will need to pick them up from the door . Please remember social distancing rules . The gym will be closed to spectators at this stage. Providing there are no changes to the current restrictions we plan to allow spectators at the start of 3rd term , however there will also be some changes to the way/times that spectators can enter and exit the gym. Emails and texts with class times have gone out to current members if you have not received the information please message us. We are now accepting new registrations for 3rd term.

03.01.2022 Teah, Mia and Allie are members of the Tasmanian Junior Development Squad and participated in the second session today at Hobart Gymnastics Acadamy. The girls had a fun day learning new drills on Bars, Beam and floor, participating in our mini Olympics and talking via zoom with Australian Gymnast Georgia Rose Brown.

03.01.2022 Next week we will be holding our Club Levels Testing. These tests are relaxed, and a celebration of the hard work gymnast's put in throughout the year. Each Gymnast will receive a certificate of their individual achievements, and if successfully completing all skills, a ribbon is ... awarded. In the event that your gymnast is absent from class next week, Skill Testing will be available by appointment on Monday 30th November, between 3.30pm and 4.30pm (Please call the office to arrange).
