20.01.2022 Mother’s Day this year is going to look a little different for all of us..... and unfortunately this includes the Florist. As Flowers are currently in short supply in Australia and pricing is continuing to rise exponentially we are needing to prioritise our regular, loyal clients and those Mum’s in our local community. We will be focusing on our local Murwillimbah area and especially on ensuring we are able to fill all orders to our local Nursing Homes for those Mums who ne...ed the love the most at the moment. We will be offering contactless deliveries for Mother’s Day on Thursday 7th, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th May only- we will be adhering to strict social distancing protocols. We will be able to offer a limited amount of floral arrangements and bouquets for pick up on Friday and Saturday up until 5pm. PREORDER will be essential for these. So please order EARLY to ensure you don’t miss out. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer a selection of ready made flowers on Display as we normally do. This is extremely disappointing for us also and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer deliveries to Coastal areas on these days. We will however be able to offer Chocolates, Fruit Baskets and Wine as an optional extra to your floral deliveries upon order. Gourmet Hampers will not be available this year. Please call the store to place your order ASAP to secure your order for Mother’s Day. Our website is a good way to place an order also but due to issues with availability of many flowers, a call to our team to discuss options is definitely preferred to avoid disappointment. 16.01.2022 That’s a wrap on Mother’s Day 2020 here at Devoted to Flowers, Murwillimbah. This year saw our delivery drivers hand deliver well over 250 handcrafted floral bouquets and arrangements to very delighted and appreciative Special Mother’s in our Community. Each one made individually with love and care in our store. We were sold out and unable to take any more orders by Friday..... that’s unheard of. It was certainly one for the record books!! ... After restocking what we could this morning we SOLD OUT again today in record time with another 50+ orders going out. Unfortunately this leaves us unable to restock again until Thursday as our suppliers and growers are also completely sold out. So, we will be closed for the next 2 days whilst our fridges are empty. A good excuse for a very well deserved break for our team. WE WILL OPEN AGAIN THURSDAY AT 8.30am. Thank you for your ongoing support and for entrusting us with your special orders. Cass

08.01.2022 Small business owners all over Australia (and the world) right now are in a state of despair and turmoil. As a small business owner you take each day with the approach that ‘My Business will only be as successful as I make it!’, ‘The commitment and effort I put in today with determine my future in business!’. ‘If I am passionate and committed then my business will flourish!’...... We spend countless hours behind the scenes- planning, assessing, designing and redesigning, co...mpleting paperwork and following up on quotes and enquires. The early morning starts and the late night finishes, the preparation work and the purchasing. Those are not the hours that you see us in our stores or in the community ‘working’. We do all of this generally for less money at the end of the month than most people earn on a salary. Most of us have not only our finances invested in our business but also our heart and soul, countless hours of our time, the majority of our energy, our creativity, blood, sweat and tears...... and generally more of the later than the former. We sacrifice time with our families, special occasions and ‘down time’ in pursuit of creating a lasting and sustainable business with happy customers that come back to us time and again. Because that’s what a good business is all about- Happy Customers. At the end of the day we invest EVERYTHING into our business. We support the community, we give it our all. Our staff become like family and our Customers, suppliers and associates become friends. These are relationships that we treasure and make having a business worthwhile and rewarding! Currently we are in a state of limbo- we find ourselves at the mercy of a global health crisis that could see us loose our businesses, our lively hoods and the investment of all of the above mentioned. What we are putting into our business doesn’t currently matter..... it’s out of our hands. We are waiting for the government to decide what is best for our community- so we can follow through with that. We also want what is best for our community. So when you see a post from a small business owner announcing that they are closing their doors indefinitely, that they are non- essential, please remember that they are making this incredibly hard sacrifice for our community....... we can only hope that the community will return the gesture and continue to support those business’s once this is over.
