12.01.2022 Our Wheelwrights do the occasional timber bend at Sovereign Hill for special projects. Its not every day that they have the opportunity to do so, so we recentl...y captured the team in action. This timber bend is being used used to manufacture wheels for a 77mm Krupp Cannon from World War I. This bending machine is a Defiance machine dating back to the 1890s and is capable of bending up to 6 inches thick x 12 inches wide boards of timber! A rare machine to see in action, anywhere in the world.
