NBN News recently featured these efforts , which involved clearing invasive weeds, planting approximately 1,300 tube stocks of rainforest and squirrel glider habitat trees, trapping and monitoring. So far, 5 individual squirrel gliders and a mating pair have been recorded in the ar...ea a very promising outlook for continued conservation. 17.01.2022 Did you see Friday’s Ministerial Media Release from Rob Stokes? A Planning System Acceleration Program designed to cut red tape and fast-track planning approvals and processes is being implemented in an effort to solidify the significant role that the construction and development sector will have as a key economic driver during and after the COVID-19 crisis. Only last week the COVID-19 Legislation Amendment (Emergency Measures) Bill 2020 [NSW] came into effect, giving the Mi...nister for Planning and Open Spaces more power to authorise development and issue Orders that override normal planning controls during this time. Notably, this led to the Environmental Planning and Assessment (COVID-19 Development Construction Work Days) Order 2020, which allows extended hours of construction work to weekends and public holidays. The Planning Institute of Australia has theorised that the scope of this new power could conceivably extend to approving developments including manufacturing and logistics premises, community centres and even shops despite the existence of other planning instruments, approvals and their conditions of consent. We are interested and keeping account of these announcements and the benefits this has for our Clients, the industry and our economy in a time of need.

02.01.2022 This year three of our key staff members attained 10 years working with de Witt Consulting. Ben Thomas, Cade Whiteman and Courtenay Frith who all started in 2010. Ben joined de Witt whilst undertaking his tertiary qualification in drafting and now manages the drafting team. Cade brought across his skills and experience in surveying and picked up a few extras along the way to become our accredited sewer and water design manager. Courtenay joined the administration team in a casual position, quickly became invaluable in all aspects of her role and is now our office manager. All three staff are highly valued members of the de Witt Consulting team and we thank each of them for their ongoing dedication and service. #celebrate #team #deWittConsulting #dWC
