20.01.2022 Please continue to pray for K9 Arlo, Deputy Turpin and his family today. As many of you know, Arlo was shot twice early this morning as he assisted Thurston Cou...nty-Sheriff deputies and Washington State Highway Patrol Troopers in the apprehension of a suspect who led them on a high speed chase. Arlo was transported to a veterinary hospital where he had been treated and where he underwent surgery about an hour ago. Arlo has come out of his first surgery where it was discovered that the bullet is lodged near Arlo’s spine. A second surgery at Oregon state University has been scheduled with a neurosurgeon. The Lacey Fire Department will provide a medical transport for Arlo down to OSU. If you are able to help, Arlo’s handler and department could use help with the growing medical bills. Please consider donating and helping this brave hero. Every dollar makes a difference. Donate Here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/k9-arlos-care

05.01.2022 Have you ever wondered why human Dr's tell you to eat less processed foods and more healthy foods yet many Vets are telling you to do the complete opposite? Whe...n your Vet is at University, kibble companies such as Royal Canin and Hills Science Diet pay the University a sponsorship fee or similar in order to access Vet students to provide "education", offer programs, brand ambassador jobs, free product, goodie bags etc. By the time your Vet makes it to their first day as a qualified Vet, they have been conditioned to think kibble is the only thing a dog should eat. Some Vets challenge this and do post grad education in nutrition and do not promote kibble to their clients, these are usually called Holistic or Integrative Vets. Are you ready to kick the kibble? https://www.facebook.com/groups/rawandfresh

05.01.2022 A letter from the President of SFID..Malcom Kilpatrick. A growing number of reports are filtering in daily to SFID about dingoes in poor condition. At least 50%...+ of dingoes seen are considered thin to not far off emaciated. Puppies around 4 months of age that appear to be on their own are too young to be properly fending for themselves. It is inevitable that visitors to the Island will find it difficult to resist feeding them due to their emaciated appearance, but this carries a hefty fine and rather than resort to taking matters into one’s own hands we would prefer that Management QPWS (Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services) and their Partner BAC (Butchulla Advisory Corporation) consider supplemental feeding as is done in other parts of the world after a catastrophic event. We believe a crisis such as what has occurred on K’Gari (Fraser Island) warrants humane intervention. Our message is please consider the trauma that the dingo will experience once visitors who have been feeding the animal leave the Island. The animals then expect to be fed by all campers and this is when negative interactions can occur. The dingoes are also being robbed of an opportunity to learn to hunt. We would like to urge concerned visitors, who see dingoes in stress to take photos and contact the Environment Minister Meaghan Scanlon Email [email protected] If you prefer you can contact us at [email protected] or through Facebook and we can pass the information on to QPWS and the BAC. ( The attached photo is a dingo with tag pink 17. The photo is copyrighted, we have permission from the photographer to share but it cannot be copy/pasted. 05.01.2022 1080 is an indiscriminate poison causing any animal unfortunate enough to ingest it to vomit, shake, scream, spasm and writhe in excruciating pain for up to fou...r days before dying. Anybody who claims to be dedicated to protecting native animals must hear this: extensive research has shown that native species are NOT immune to 1080 and are especially vulnerable to the poison in south-eastern Australia. Today I join the online protest against the continued use of this vile bait join the protest here: https://www.facebook.com/events/818184435609262/ Sussan Ley MP - We must stop this ecological cleansing madness and #Ban1080 poison!
