Always keep an eye out for kids if you’re driving near a school, and be alert as the roads will be busy, especially at school drop off and pick up times. Remember that the speed limit is 25 km/h in school zones when children are present, and when passing school buses dropping off or picking up passengers. A 25 km/h speed limit also applies when the lights are flashing at a koala crossing.... 17.01.2022 GRANITE ISLAND CAUSEWAY TEMPORARILY CLOSED As a result of winds exceeding 100km/h in the past 24 hours, the Granite Island Causeway at Victor Harbor will be closed to all pedestrians and vehicles, including the horse-drawn tram, until further notice. The Department advises the public to be very careful around jetties during strong winds.

09.01.2022 Works will be undertaken to replace 38 light poles on King William Road and North Terrace along the Festival Plaza and Botanic tram lines to support overhead infrastructure as part of the City Tram Extension Project. The new poles will enhance the visual amenity of these important cultural precincts and allow the City of Adelaide to use them for major events. Works will occur from Monday, 19 October to Friday 23 October, ...between 9am and 4pm each day. Lane and speed restrictions will be in place. There will be no impact to tram services. Pedestrians may be temporarily redirected around work areas, with disability access provisions in place. The Variable Speed Limit Signage installed on this gantry forms part of the measures that will improve safety and traffic flow for the almost 54,000 vehicles using this section of the Freeway each day. 07.01.2022 Works to improve safety for all road users on a 13km section of Horrocks Highway between Laura and 4km north of Stone Hut commence on Wednesday, 2 December. Shoulder sealing works will be undertaken between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday, with completion expected by the end of the year, weather permitting.... The road will remain open to traffic with speed and lane restrictions in place. Signage will be in place to advise of changed conditions. 06.01.2022 Works to resurface 2.2km of Eastern Parade between Grand Junction Road and Grand Trunkway commence on Thursday, 12 November, with completion expected by late December, weather permitting. Works will be undertaken between 7pm and 6am each night, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required. The first section of works will be undertaken between Grand Trunkway/Perkins Drive and Bedford Street, including the Bedford Street intersection. 05.01.2022 Driving through the Darlington Upgrade Project recently, you may have seen two striking pieces of art work on either side of Main South Road. The Tjilbruki and Coolamon pieces were created locally, in collaboration with local Kaurna groups, and craned into place next to the surface roads. 05.01.2022 Maintenance works will be undertaken on the western and eastern bridge crossings over Mt. Barker Road on the South Eastern Freeway. Works will commence Tuesday, 1 December, with expected completion by late December, weather permitting. Works will be conducted at night between the hours of 7pm and 6am, with no work on Friday and Saturday nights.... Access to the South Eastern Freeway and adjacent roads will remain open. 05.01.2022 Works to construct the final wearing surface along two sections of the Sturt Highway near Truro will commence on Monday, 12 October, to improve safety and provide a smoother ride for motorists. This follows pavement works undertaken earlier. Works will begin first on a 4km section from Carrara Hill Road to north of Jaeger Road, before moving to a 4.5km section north of Truro towards Accommodation Hill (refer to map). Works will be undertaken day and night from 10am Monday unt...il 7am Friday each week, to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible, with completion expected by mid-November, weather permitting. Sturt Highway will remain open during the works, with speed and lane restrictions in place. Speed restrictions will remain in place for approximately four to six weeks, weather permitting, to enable excess bitumen to be worn to a safe level.

02.01.2022 - - Works are full steam ahead for the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project. The accelerated T2D Ground Investigations Program will fast track our understanding of the conditions under the surface, helping us to determine the depth and route the tunnels might take.... Commencing with one drill rig in August this year, we now have four concurrently operating rigs with a fifth starting in coming weeks. To date, boreholes of approximately 10cm in diameter, at depths of between 30 to 100 metres, have been drilled at 36 locations. The total depth drilled equates to more than 1.4km.By the end of January 2021, nearly 5,000 tests will have been carried out across 200 testing locations. This image shows an example of a site setup and drill rig. Extracted samples are examined on-site with detailed geotechnical analysis undertaken at local laboratories. This final and most complex section of the North-South Corridor, is South Australia’s largest infrastructure project to date and will deliver a 78km, non-stop traffic-light-free connection between Gawler and Old Noarlunga, with links to the port and airport precincts.
