02.01.2022 Do your down lights get hot? Chances are your house is still running halogen down lights. If you are tired of paying an arm and a leg on your power bills, switch to L.E.D lighting. Here is why. The amount of power a halogen globe consumes in one year is more than what an L.E.D globe consumes in 6 years. L.E.D lighting consumes about 82.5% less power and the bulbs last 6 times longer. The filaments in halogen lights rise up to about 2,500C. The amount of energy that is being... wasted in the production of that heat is phenomenal. It adds up to about $2373.40 per bulb (over its life time) to be exact.
