24.01.2022 It certainly was an awesome event, the little bit of exposure made a massive influence...

23.01.2022 Sam was on hiccup (the dragging dummy)and I was on MT having a play.... fun afternoon! To note the video does not do justice.. there was quite a distance betw...een Sam and us... he was very safe - and I would not do this on many other horses but MT! (That is dragging Sam on hiccup) but all horses started here drag the dummy as part of their education and learning...Just putting it out there. See more

22.01.2022 Hi Guys, This is Ritz. To put this guy into context, hes one of ours, weve had him for a while. Unfortunately hes always been the "grumpy" one, always pulli...ng faces and very reluctant to move forward. Our local Vets (Inverell Vet Clinic) held a gastric scoping day last year. We found that he had stage 3 Ulcers... after a 30 day treatment this is the result. He is now freely offering to move forward and lope - and no more pulling faces!! :-) To note, this is only his second ride this session and he is still a little "fresh" so I was not asking for too much from him... I cant stress enough that your horse isnt a happy camper - get him checked out.. certainly helped this guy! Thanks Inverell Vet Clinic! See more

20.01.2022 What a cracker of a day. 40+ tests, in various divisions. A massive thanks to all who attended and made the weekend so great, and assisting us with getting Jo another step closer to her certification as a Cowboy Dressage World official Judge. (Only one criteria left to successfully achieve this!) Special mention has to go out to Tony Kellund for his help, Kyles, Mel and Jill for scribing. Kath and Jill for calling tests, and Dave for his expertise on the bbq. Mel, Sonya and the kids for helping up pack up and leave the awesome venue of the Inverell Equestrian grounds ready for the next event. Obviously thanks to the Equestrian Council for the grounds. Huge thanks guys and girls, without your support we cant hold events such as this.

11.01.2022 just buy a motorcycle or something. If your goal as a beginner is to become a better rider and have much better communication with your horse then the hackam...ore is absolutely a fantastic tool. If your goal is simply to control your horse then the hackamore is probably not for you. Then again if a riders focus is on control instead of communication they should probably stay away from horses and just buy a motorcycle or something. - Jeff Sanders https://www.facebook.com/search/top/

11.01.2022 I am so looking forward to this awesome event.

06.01.2022 Hi there guys and gals! Welcome to 2020!! To start the year on a good note we are scheduling 3 "Boutique Ladies Training days" here at Katana. Over the days we will work on balance and flexion, gaits, transitions, stops, turns, more advanced manoeuvres, mechanical cow, and obstacles. We will have sessions which cover topics of riders mindset, posture and goals for 2020, head gear (bitting/bosal etc), self care and confidence strategies.... Each day will be catered for - morning tea and lunch. 830am coffee and paper work on horses by 9, lunch around 1230 then back on horses to 4pm. Days are limited to 6 riders. Prior bookings will be essential. Dates: 18 Jan, 15 Feb, 8 Mar. Each day is an individual stand alone day - attendance at all days not essential - however it would be beneficial. Cost $80/day. Registration and payment for the January day due by 10 Jan. PM us for more details.

05.01.2022 I posted this on my personal page, but it beckons comment here. Ground work is critical in every day horsemanship. It provides us an opportunity to check in with our equine partners before we jump on. Ground work is our pre flight check supple , engages and attentive, then we are ready for the ride. Ground work doesnt have to consist of circles on line - there are many other exercises which set us up to succeed. The point is - use them! Set yourself up for a good ride before you mount.

05.01.2022 a good afternoon...

04.01.2022 A pretty good description. Collection is balance and it is holistic...

04.01.2022 We had a great day 2 with the border ranges trail riders yesterday. Started the day with ground work exercises (with a short visit from a couple of water buffalo!), then moved to the arena for obstacles and gait/foot fall session. Finished the day with a trail ride through some lovely country. Thanks for the invite guys, I’m looking forward to the next time we meet!
