11.01.2022 In the wake of Corona Virus pandemic or the control measures taken by the government, a lot of our tenants have lost their jobs in the last 10 days. Some are unable to pay rent all together whilst others have asked for a rent reduction, until the situation reverts to old normal. FYI, The government has also announced a moratorium on tenant's eviction for the next 6 months. Tenancy Tribunal has suspended all hearing until further notice. A tenant relief package is due to be ...announced later in the week. A similar relief package may be announced later for the landlords who can’t pay their mortgage payments and eventually the mother of all bailouts, for the banks who won’t be able to operate without getting their money back from the landlords. The question to ask ourselves is that, where the bailout money will come from? Wasn't it taken away from the working tenants and landlords (commonly known as income tax) to start with or will it be printed from the thin air?

It was almost 10 years ago, November 2010 when I walked into your office looking for an agent to manage my recently purchased investment property. I had visited all the other glitzier looking agents in the area and I stopped into your understated office.... After talking with you for a short time I got the sense that you didn’t need gimmicks and you relied on ethics, integrity and honesty. After having you as my letting agent for a short time these first impressions were confirmed. Your office may be small and unassuming but I was impressed right from the start. Your attention to detail was evident from your first Property Inspection, finding things that I had failed to notice and highlighting the things I had to get done to comply with legislation, etc. You laid out your schedule of fees with no extra or hidden charges. You were able to get me quality tenants who never missed a rental payment and when I moved into the property myself it was returned to me in excellent condition. All this indicates to me that you have are a Master in attracting the best possible tenants. Even when you were not my agent you were so helpful when I needed to get a valuation and rental appraisal when I refinanced. The time came to sell and I met with other agents for their opinions about the sale and marketing of my property. I was almost taken in by their flashiness but you came across as more genuine and honest by comparison.
