25.01.2022 Torrens University Because we know passion unlocks potential, not an ATAR score. We have always believed that ATAR is not a true representation of a student's future success. So we have removed it as an entry requirement, for good. We know that the individuality of the student, their strengths, and future potential is a better indication of how they might succeed in higher education. https://www.torrens.edu.au/low-atar-high-passion

21.01.2022 NSW SRS offers released today. If you’ve applied for undergraduate study through Schools Recommendation Schemes (SRS), here's what you need to know about getting your offer. Offers will be made via UAC on Thursday 12 November. If your application is successful, you’ll receive either an unconditional offer or a conditional offer.... If you receive an unconditional offer, congratulations! Go ahead and accept it. If you want to be in the running for another offer in December (based on your ATAR), move the course you’ve been offered down to the bottom of your list of course preferences or remove it entirely. (As long as you have accepted the offer, you can’t lose it.) If you receive a conditional offer, you still need to meet additional criteria before the institution will make you an unconditional offer in December Round 2 (on 23 December). The institution will tell you how to do this. You might receive more than one conditional offer on 12 November, but only one of them can become an unconditional offer in December Round 2. In this offer round, like in all rounds, you’ll receive an offer to the course that is highest in your list of preferences and for which you are eligible and competitive enough. So make sure you have the course you most want to study at the top of your list of preferences, even if you haven't received a conditional offer to it. https://www.uac.edu.au/media-cen/news/srs-offers-on-the-way

14.01.2022 Extending the USI to higher education The Australian Government is extending the Unique Student Identifier (USI) to higher education students, starting in 2021. What is the USI? The USI is a single unique identifier for a student’s education journey.... When will the USI be introduced to higher education? The USI will be introduced gradually, with students who are commencing their studies in 2021. By 2023, all higher education students will need to have a USI if they expect to receive their award in 2023 or beyond. This includes all students who started before 2021, as well as, all international onshore students. What do students need to do? Students who are commencing study in 2021 are encouraged to: check if they already have a USI (from previous vocational education or training); or get a USI as soon as possible; provide their USI to their Tertiary Admissions Centre or Higher Education Provider when requested. If a student is applying for Commonwealth Financial Assistance (HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP, OS-HELP, SA-HELP) a USI must also be recorded on their Commonwealth Assistance Form (CAF or eCAF). https://www.usi.gov.au/your-usi/create-usi
