01.01.2022 BACK TO CERVANTES WEEKEND - 8th , 9th and 10 June 2018. 22 days to go. I will post a piece of paradise every day for the next 22 days . The Tanks Th...e biggest Cervantes Landmark of all. Who remembers arguing with your brothers and sisters of who saw them first after a trip from the city ? 20 years ago half a dozen slighty intoxicated locals climbed the water tanks in town to record the Tiger Sharks record breaking 1998 Triple Premiership. It became a ritual that a premiership was added yearly and it wasn’t till after the 2010 season when whe had won 9 of the past 11 years that it was stopped mainly because the artists had run out of room. Members of the 1998 Premiership sides and also the 2008 League and Premiership sides will get together for a 20 year and 10 year reunion at the Back to Cervantes Weekend. You will also see some of them pulling on the boots for the Legends match against Northern Warriors Super Rules at 11am. Make sure you visit the pop up museum the Cervantes Historical Society when you are in town for our big weekend. It’s near the post office. Have you booked your accomodation yet ?
