25.01.2022 As per the recent notice sent out to all DIA members, our Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 21 October 2020 at 4.30 pm via Zoom. The AGM will start at 4.30 pm with a panel of three drycleaners talking about their experience of running their business during the recent COVID-19 lockdowns and then take any questions. 22.01.2022 While cleaners are clothing care experts, they also know a thing or two about household textiles, which, in addition to bedspreads and comforters, include draperies and curtains, blankets, upholstery, slipcovers, decorative pillows, and heirloom textiles. To protect and prolong the beauty of your household textiles remember these basic tips: 1 - Protect all furnishings from sunlight, fumes, and pets.... 2 - Damage, like tears, should be repaired immediately. 3 - Vacuum and/or brush to remove dust regularly. 4 - Follow the manufacturer's cleaning recommendations. 5 - Do not allow the item to become extremely soiled, and have any stains removed immediately. 6 - Do not store household textiles that are not clean and stain free. 21.01.2022 CANCELLED - TwinClean Conference Earlier this year we advised all members that the TwinClean 2020 conference would be rescheduled to October 2021, still to be held at Crown Casino. After much deliberation and discussion it has been decided by the TwinClean Steering Committee to completely cancel the conference so it will not be going ahead in October 2021 and this stage if it does go ahead it will be after July 2022.... It has not been an easy decision to make as most of the work had been done for the conference and it was turning into a very exciting event. We were looking at having 100 delegates from overseas attend plus members of the International Drycleaners Congress, Laundry Association Australia and the TRSA (USA). The committee do not feel confident that local and international business conditions, not to mention international travel, will return to normal for another 12 months therefore affecting the viability of an international conference being held. We thank you for your support and look forward to holding another TwinClean conference sometime in the futur
