18.01.2022 Just under 4 weeks ago I got a message from the spectacularly talented Jessica Stanley asking if I'd be interested in doing some sound design for a new work called "Child's Play". "Sign me up" says I. Little did I know what lay in store.... ...a lovely chat with the amazing Jem Aliza Nicholas haha Loved the script and seeing Jem bring it to life in rehearsals really helped me create 2 narative soundscapes, a basket full of sound effects and 5 or 6 short musical themes one of... which developed into a song (with words and everything). Probably one of my most satisfying to write as themes, lyrical style and musicality all joined hands and swayed in 6/8 time. Just wanted to say Thanks to Jess and Jem for inviting me in, to the rest of the team that made the show possible, to all that came and left with fuller hearts and to my family for putting up with sleep deprived me. Love you all xxx See more

18.01.2022 Didn't make the final 10, but had some fun, learned some things and ended up writing a pleasing piece with leitmotif, bassy ostinato and even the 'Tristan Chord' haha Good Luck to the finalists. 15.01.2022 After a stress filled night of video editing software not liking codecs and a disappearing media drive I finally got this little gem finished. It's a bit clunky in places, i still have a lot to learn but am still stoked with the results. Now the wait begins
