24.01.2022 ELIASON PROVES HE CAN RACE ANYWHERE AFTER SHOOTOUT BLITZ Another new race track and another podium finish for US Sprintcar ace, Cory Eliason this time at Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway for the annual Krikke Boys Shootout on Saturday night. The Californian sharp shooter has had an scintillating season with the Diamond Bay Motorsport outfit, his second season and the team have marked it with a big tick of approval. Taking 5th in the time trial with a 13.526, he was outs...tanding at the way he carried himself on yet another new track here in WA. His first heat was simply amazing as he chased down Dave Murcott right to the finish line having a last dash into the final turn and sending the car into a spin which saw him place third over the line rolling backwards. While his 6th place finish wasn’t what he wanted it did place him into the dash events which saw him advance from the Bronze to the Silver Shootout. He would start the A Main from 4th place, which meant nothing in his eyes as he has proved so often across the country this season that it wouldn’t matter where he started in the field, he would be a force to be reckoned with. From the get go, Eliason was hard on the chase, pursuing Madsen, Tatnell and McFadden. When Madsen had to exit the race with a flat right rear tyre, this left him to chase down Tatnell and he did this with a massive outside pass in turn two, leaving him to chase down and continue his season long rivalry with WSS Champion James McFadden. He chased down the W17 and had a serious crack with only four laps to go, but McFadden had his measure this time around after narrowly beating him the previous week at the Perth Motorplex on the Saturday, but Eliason winning clean the night before. An absolute credit to Devil Race Karts owner Darren Bergin for helping the team again this season and showing why he had placed to much faith in the 28 year old. Nonetheless it kept the top five consistency intact but the runner up position made it three for the Diamond Bay Motorsport team at the event. They will now wind up for the season and set themselves up for another big season in 20/21 knowing they have their gun signing in the barrel next year. See more

21.01.2022 ELIASON BREAKS THROUGH FOR MAIDEN WSS VICTORY US hot shot Cory Eliason has made his first west coast appearance here in WA a statement to his rivals on the WSS Western Swing, with a resounding victory. Starting the night, he couldn’t have scripted the night any better when he stopped the clocks at 13.753 and took his first Revolution Quick Time of the series after coming so close on many occasions this season. Starting at the back of his heats in both races he moved the car f...orward three places in his first heat and two places in his second heat race, gaining valuable points towards the Shootout section. It was enough to land the Devil race Karts W26 in 6th place and while he didn’t advance in the Silver Shootout, there was some changes to the car which would start from 6th in the A Main. A rubber down racing surface meant holding his own from the green light, which he did and took two positions at the start followed by another two places before a minor stoppage saw him behind James McFadden on the restart. McFadden jumped away for a handful of laps and then lapped traffic played its part slowing the leader down and proving to be an obstacle. Eliason pounced straight away, passing on the outside around turn one and taking the lead in scintillating fashion. After several more stoppages, which only worked in the Californian’s favour there was a fuel stoppage with only five laps remaining but the team were optimistic of their chances with tyre wear not proving to be a major issue at the time. Eliason lead the depleting field away and with another stoppage still kept his nose in front. On the green he lead away and was simply too good, taking a well deserved WSS win that had eluded him all season. See more

17.01.2022 The Highs and lows of Sprintcar racing! We had awesome pace @ Bunbury Speedway for the v round on New Year’s Day. Qualified 3rd, won our heat race and wo...n our dash by nearly 8 seconds. Unfortunately after racing away to the lead in the feature we had a hydraulic wing failure which would make the car nearly impossible to drive and robbed us of a strong chance of victory. I must thank the team for an awesome race car to drive that night. Steve and Jamie somehow made a fast car faster every time we hit the track and I was the lucky one who got to have the fun. After working to the early hours of Saturday morning we worked to get the car turned around and contest the 4th round at a day show @ Allwest Plant Hire - Ellenbrook Speedway that day. A terrible run in qualifying ruined any chance of a good showing on the night. We rallied to try and make something of it but it wasn’t our night. The good news is I get to rip around the Perth Motorplex twice this week. I feel really strong there now in this car so hopefully we have a bit of luck this time and try park the Diamond Bay Motorsports car back in victory lane were it belongs. 12.01.2022 DIAMOND BAY SET FOR KING OF THE WINGS After a strong set of practice laps at the Perth Motorplex last night, David Priolo and the Diamond Bay Motorsport outfit, are set to light it up come Saturday night at the Perth Motorplex. Setting some strong times and looking like he had never been away from the sport, Priolo was rapt with the performance of the Devil Race Karts W26. We had some real good car speed from the car tonight, he smiled. It was great just to get back in th...e seat, and to be in the Diamond Bay car is a real privilege. A huge field of cars are set to land at the Kwinana Beach circuit, along with the toughest names in the sport. It’s a race, with a spicy format, something that hasn’t escape Priolo, who is well seasoned and ready for the challenge. It’ll be tough out there come Saturday, but I think we’re ready to go, he said. Just a couple of things to sort out for us and then we’re all good. When it comes to Sprintcar racing, Priolo is the consummate professional and is always front and centre when it comes to the thick of competition. He has never backed away from a stoush on the track. On the weekend he will aim to do what almost every other driver in the team before him, that is landing the car in the top five, if not on the podium. On Saturday night, with the best in town and a great prize on offer, Priolo will no doubt, be keen to place the W26 in victory lane and cement a positive start for his new outfit, something he is easily capable of doing for sure. #devilracekarts See more

02.01.2022 PRIOLO SEEING POSITIVES FROM SPEEDWEEK With four rounds of the WA Sprintcar Speedweek now complete, Diamond Bay Motorsport ace, Dave Priolo, is feeling more confident than ever that the Devil Race Karts W26 is not far from a podium finish. Seeing some speed in round two, it was only a little bit of bad luck that forced the team down the rung. Then the cameo run at Bunbury Speedway had them on the front row of the A Main, after a sensational night. Timing in third for their g...roup, a solid heat win and a strong Dash win by over eight seconds set their night up well. After starting strong in the feature, the bad luck curse struck with a hydraulic ram that operates the main wing coming loose and after sorting the issue (seeing the car fall back three places), Priolo fought his way back to third and almost second before a spin sent him to the rear. While they finished in 9th place and had moved forward from 14th, it was a missed opportunity which he was well aware of. It was a little frustrating after Bunbury, yeah, he recalled. We did everything right for the night and just that little bit of bad luck hits you where it hurts. At Ellenbrook for round four, saw them in a tough qualifying run which placed them on the back foot form the get go. Starting from 13th in the A Main, they fell away until a restart saw the W26 move forward. After several restarts, the car came home in 12th place. Not the best outing but Priolo is already casting his eyes back to the Perth Motorplex for a mid week run on Wednesday night. We just need to get the car in victory lane where it belongs, he said. The Stathy family turn out a very professional product and I am so appreciative of this opportunity they have given me. With two rounds of Speedweek remaining, the team will look at podium finishes before the mid season break. Something they all agree is very achievable with the positives in the last couple of rounds. They are not casting their eyes too much past this week and are taking the cliché of one race at a time in the short term before the big events start to fire up in February offering more challenges to the Bunbury based team. Something all their fans will be looking forward to witnessing. See more
