24.01.2022 We are very proud of this boy today. He trusted us enough to be in this vulnerable position. We were able to touch him everywhere and get him used to a person being above him, all in a relaxed and trusting state. He is growing stronger and happier everyday.

We must celebrate their achievements no matter how small, as they move closer to being more balanced, confident and trusting. It is as much about the energy we bring to the interaction as it is their behaviour.

The family of four were incredibly inspiring in the way that they approached the morning with an openness to learn more about themselves through guided interactions with the horses. By partnering with horses young people learn about the importance of trust, effective communication and finding opportunities to work together. This is a great program for building confidence and self esteem. It is the perfect choice for children aged 10 years and over. Diamond Blue Stables offers equine assisted learning sessions aimed to support couples in their commitment to interacting in a respectful way. This is the perfect alternative to room based therapy. Couples are able to practice healthy ways of communicating by working together as a team in moving a horse through a range of safe and e...ngaging groundwork activities, facilitated by a registered psychologist. Horses offer honest and judgment free interactions. They provide a safe and non verbal space for people to experience positive emotion, meaning, perspective taking, giving and self acceptance. Horses also help to spark spontaneity, and creative and flexible thinking. All of these achievements can be paralleled back to everyday life. Sessions are primarily outdoors, with people valuing the opportunity to be amidst nature. The aim is to support people to be their best self within their relationship. Sessions are $150 per 60 minute session, per couple. If one of the partners has a mental health care plan the out of pocket cost is estimated to be $80 in total. He has had a difficult upbringing and is looking forward to some rehabilitation @diamondbluestables.com.au He has had his first vet check after a number of years, his teeth are healthy and comfortable again and he is up to date with vaccinations. 08.01.2022 Diamond Blue Stables is pleased to be offering a ‘Skills Workshop’ for people experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety: Wednesday 21 August, 10am - 1pm. Diamond Blue stables is located on the outskirts of Canberra in a rural village named Michelago. Equine therapy is an alternative intervention to office based therapy and is suitable for a range of client groups. The ‘hands on’ ‘outdoor’ intervention involves working with horses and uses action methods to facilitate ...positive emotion, mindfulness, creativity, learning, insight and growth. The workshop will introduce you to working with horses and practicing a range of skills related to understanding and managing the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Lessons learned in the arena can be paralleled back to everyday life. All of the work undertaken with the horses happens on the ground, there is no riding component to the workshop and you do not need prior experience with horses. Individual sessions are also available if the workshop is not quite right for you at this time. Zoe is happy to talk with you about your individual needs. This program is being run again due to lots of interest in our June program (follow us on FB and Instagram to see what we have been doing). This event is aimed at helping people to build their confidence with horses either on the ground or getting back in the saddle. ... This boutique program would suit people just starting out in the wonderful world of horses and those know their way around a horse but for whatever reason have lost their confidence. The group program is delivered in 3 x 2 hour sessions, on Saturday afternoons at Diamond Blue Stables (Michelago NSW); we are also offering the same program on Wednesday mornings. Spaces are limited to a maximum of three people, to ensure that everyone receives ample attention. Participants will work with a range of horses at Diamond Blue Stables, including two that have been rescued. Your program ticket will help to pay for the ongoing rehabilitation needs of our rescued friends.
