23.01.2022 2020 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Following our AGM on Monday 26th October we are proud to announce our Executive and Committee for the 2021 season. Firstly we would like to thank outgoing President Tom Rogneda for his last two years, Tom will continue to be on the committee in 2021. Our new President is Steve Sampson who many at the club will know from his previous stint as our Sponsorship Manager (a role he will also return too). Steve has spent the last 2 years on the board of ...the NFNL and we are rapt to have him back at the club. 21.01.2022 Hughston.....Kavanagh has landed! We are excited to have Hugh Kavanagh back for another year. A former Senior Best & Fairest winner, Hughy is a tremendous high leaping intercept mark across the backline, possessing the the ability to change games through his own marvelous play. Also adept at long bouncing runs from defence and a penetrating kick he is a real crowd pleaser and we can’t wait to see him doing his thing again on Coventry Oval in 2021.

20.01.2022 Two Tall Guys Brothers Josh & James Marchbank will be in the Red and Blue again in 2021. Josh is an outstanding tap ruckman who gives our on ballers great service and has been a valuable member of the team since joining us in 2017. His ability to make the play happen out of the midfield gives us a real advantage. ... James is a key defender who has shown on a number of occasions that he can lockdown his opponent and limit their influence on games. James capped off a great 1st year at the club in 2019 with a top 5 finish in our Senior Best & Fairest.

We are thrilled with Jai’s continued commitment to DCFNC and are looking forward to another year of him lighting it up on and off the field as a key member of our senior playing group! 16.01.2022 Oli Parks is committed! Another favorite amongst the playing group, and a vitally important player! Oli offers a great amount of versatility to our team. Whether he is playing key position at either end of the ground or crashing into bodies through the midfield he certainly makes his presence felt! A big man, that regularly finishes at the point end of the Best & Fairest count, we are thrilled to have Oli on board for the future!

15.01.2022 Tyler Barnes is locked in We are pleased to announce that Tyler Barnes will be back burrowing through packs and laying tackles in 2021. Tyler is a relentless on baller who never stops giving his all, with a tremendously high work rate both offensively and defensively. Tyler is a club favorite and another one of our home grown juniors. Tyler contributes both on and off the field in a big way and after finishing 3rd in the 2019 Best & Fairest we look forward to more of the same from Barnsey next season.

14.01.2022 The NFNL have decided to also cancel all Junior Football and Senior Netball for 2020 due to the current situation in Victoria. A disappointing result for all involved in the Juniors, the Junior Committee/Coaches/Team managers and parents have done a fantastic job getting the kids back training, but it is a decision we know is in the best interest of everyone. We look forward to next season when both the Senior & Junior clubs will return and we welcome the next group of U17s into the Senior club for 2021.

14.01.2022 Jayden Walker is on board again for 2021. After being a new recruit in 2020 it is fantastic to have Jayden committing to play with us again in 2021. A proven key forward we anticipate Jayden will add a lot of potency, versatility and experience to our forward line. Jayden’s commitment and integration into the group throughout pre-season was outstanding, we absolutely are looking forward to seeing you in Diamond Creek colors in 2021!

12.01.2022 It’s a fair resume! The Gannon family have a long history at our club, with Stacey, Kristie & Brookes late father Brian also being a player and member of our last Division 1 Senior Premiership team in 1982. Looking forward to our netballers defending their title again in 2021.

11.01.2022 2021 PAST PLAYERS/OFFICIALS DAY & 1981 PREMIERSHIP REUNION DATE : Saturday 1st May at Coventry Oval vs Eltham Football Club. An early heads up for what promises to be a great past players day this year as we also celebrate the 40th Anniversary of our 1981 Division 1 Senior Premiership.... The 1981 victory was the first leg of our back to back flags of 81/82, so help us spread the word to make this a huge day for the club against our old rival Eltham. 09.01.2022 2021 Announcement We are pleased to announce the re-appointment of Peter Barnes as our Under 19’s coach for the 2021 season. Peter has been involved with the club for many years in a number of different roles and is excited by the opportunity of working with this group in 2021. Please see a message below from Peter. I am very proud that the DCFNC has shown faith in me and given me the privilege of coaching the under 19s again for the 2021 season.... There is no doubt it is going to be a very challenging season with most likely a late preseason start coming of a year where the players only played the one practice match. The challenge being to reignite the passion, love and enjoyment of the game that may have dwindled during this tough year for some of the players and staff. However I look forward to the challenge and know that we have a fantastic group of players both top and bottom age to unite into what I consider a side that has the ability to be an impressive and very successful team. It will be a great day when we are back on the track and the DCFNC community comes together again in person giving us that support and purpose in our goal to be the best side/club we can be. 07.01.2022 We are excited to have Michael Florance back for 2021. Flo was recruited from North Heidelberg, and is a massive addition to our big man stocks with his versatility allowing him to play in the Ruck or Key Position. Flo not only brings with him a heap of experience, but also a lot of talent which we have seen first hand in a number of battles over the years! Flo has previously won a Best & Fairest at North Heidelberg and was named in the Division 1 NFNL team of the year in 2018. No doubt, it is an understatement to say that we are looking forward to seeing Flo run out for us in 2021.

03.01.2022 Nathan Searl is on board for 2021. Another local boy, Searly is a member of our leadership group and has been a regular senior player for a number of years. A smooth mover with great skills and also adept at selling a bit of candy. Combined with this he has the ability to play a number of positions and he has become a reliable goal scorer for us!
