25.01.2022 MA made an announcement this week, one which we have all been waiting for and feels like the next step towards getting you all back on yoour bikes. Here are th...e highlights from their Statement: "From June 15, 2020 License sales will be reactivated to renew or apply for your license" "....MA in consultation with the State Controlling Bodies (SCBs) is pleased to confirm an extension of active annual licenses for members affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. All annual licenses purchased in the period between April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020 will automatically receive a 3 month extension." "Like all members, MA and the SCBs are keen for motorcycle riding to resume. As a community there will need to be an understanding that it will not be a return to sport as usual, prior to the pandemic. Certain State and Federal Government restrictions and measures will likely remain for some time. To ensure no further restrictions are imposed on our sport all members are encouraged to follow government guidelines and practice good personal hygiene." 25.01.2022 On behalf of the club committee, we would like to provide you with an update on WEDDERBURN 2020. We have been working hard on trying to obtain a permit for this years event which we have all been looking forward to. Unfortunately a number of conditions within the permit are proving to be more difficult than others, which is why we will be cancelling this years event. Although the event will not run at this stage, our committee will continue to work with the local council to t...ry and obtain a permit for the event as well as Wedderburn 2021. We can’t wait to see you all back racing later in the year with us.

25.01.2022 The club committee have decided that all your current 2020 club memberships will roll over to the 2021 season! We have also decided that all our current 2020 sponsors of the club, will be remaining on board for the 2021 season! The committee believed this was the best outcome for all our members, given this season hasn’t been what we had wished and we could not run the events we had planned.... Although nothing is planned at this stage, the club committee will continue to monitor guidelines around running an event in 2020. This event may not be a club champ, it could be a ride day or something for our members to catch up again such as a club meeting at the bowls club.

24.01.2022 COVID-19 update from AMA. Events WILL run as per usual based on current government advice. We will continue to keep our members up to date if anything changes from this advice.

24.01.2022 The committee of the Hattah Desert Race has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Penrite Hattah Desert Race, scheduled to run from 3-5 July 2020. In l...ight of the global pandemic and the implications it has for large gatherings, and closed borders across the country, the decision, though deeply disappointing, is necessary. At an extraordinary Committee meeting last night, the Committee looked at all possible options, including moving the date to August, however without a crystal ball on what this pandemic will look like, this tough decision was made. Last night the decision was also made that due to the 2020 race cancellation, all top 40 and place-getter pre-entries will be carried forward to the 2021 Hattah Desert Race. We understand the challenges this poses for our many local organisations and service groups and are working on reaching out as quickly as possible to advise of the cancellation. As a non-profit, community and volunteer-driven organisation based in Mildura, we understand the power and importance of community and are turning our focus inward for the short-term to ensure we continue to contribute to our great region. We want to thank those volunteers who had been working hard at working bees to get the track and facilities ready for the 2020 race. We look forward to additional announcements from the Federal and State Governments in the near future, so we can get back out on the dirt and doing what we love. As we continue to receive questions about the running of the event, WE WILL be going ahead based on all current advice and restrictions. 14.01.2022 I’ve been a little quiet on here but very busy. 4 weeks ago I packed up for a 5 month trip of a life time getting out of Melbourne and heading over to Europe (...Spain) and planning return after Dakar end of January. I will be spending my time chasing a new goal of mine racing in Rally. There has been a lot of people behind the scene making this opportunity possible and I’m so thankful. First week in Spain I got to learn how to read the roadbooks which is the map reading I have to navigate while I ride which is going to be the tricky part for me. The rally bike is so nice to ride, first impression was really good, lighter than i imagined and more powerful too. Team has been really helpful and team mates have been fun to be around. First race this week in Spain, Andalusia Rally, I have to finish this in order to qualify for Dakar. So I’ll be taking it easy for the 4 days and trying not to get lost

10.01.2022 Tatts Finke Desert Race cancellation To Finke competitors, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers, officials, ambassadors and supporters. On behalf of the Finke Desert... Race committee, I regret to advise that the Tatts Finke Desert Race for 2020 has been cancelled. Australian Government advice to restrict gatherings to 500 people or less meant we had no option but to cancel. Additionally travel to Aputula community (Finke) has been restricted so we wouldn’t be able to camp overnight. This is the right decision based on health grounds. To all our competitors, we will send further advice on refunds of entry fees. This may take some time and I ask that you be patient as we work through the process. We will send you another message in the coming weeks. This is the first time in the events 44 year history that we have had to take this action. There is no one to blame here and I am sure there will be many very disappointed people however things are beyond our control.
