19.01.2022 Although lessons are still not allowed at the moment, I am still able to be used for drive testing, so today I got to witness Ryan do an awesome drive test. Ryan and I started his journey just over 12 months ago when he had 0 hours, and today to watch him nail his reverse parallel park and lane changes with head checks. His whole drive test was just fantastic. Well done Ryan. #anotherdiamonddriverontheroad

16.01.2022 WOW - I was not expecting this GREAT NEWS 16 November 2020 Thousands of Melburnians will now be able to book their licence and learner permit tests after new bookings were suspended due to coronavirus restrictions.... From today, new bookings for the next ten weeks will be taken in metropolitan Melbourne for drive, hazard perception and learner permit tests for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic forced the closure of key licensing services in late March. More bookings will become available from Thursday, and further appointments will be made available every fortnight from then. The Victorian Government has set up additional licence testing centres and hire hundreds more staff to offer more bookings and ensure these key services can resume safely as part of the roadmap to recovery. The additional resources will allow VicRoads Customer Service Centres and temporary testing sites across Melbourne to deliver up to 11,000 licence and 16,500 computer-based tests per week, up from 3,200 licence and 6,400 computer-based tests before the pandemic. Customers with suspended appointments have been given priority to rebook their tests and are being reminded to contact VicRoads on a dedicated number as soon as possible to book an appointment. Across Melbourne the expected demand for services is around 125,000 licence tests and 255,000 computer-based tests. VicRoads will continue to ensure COVID Safe measures are in place to allow the safe delivery of licensing services. This includes appropriate cleaning of vehicles used in tests, strict hygiene requirements for customers, instructors and testing officers, the wearing of masks at all times, and the use of disposable seat covers. No one should visit a VicRoads Customer Service Centre or sit a driving test if they are unwell. Anyone feeling unwell should get tested and stay home. Customers are encouraged to book a test on the VicRoads website, or alternatively call the VicRoads Contact Centre on 13 11 71 or for more information, visit vicroads.vic.gov.au. Quotes attributable to Minister for Roads Ben Carroll While getting through these appointments will take some time, we understand how important getting your licence or learners is that’s why we’ll deliver more tests than ever before and get Melburnians behind the wheel sooner and safer. We thank Victorians for their patience as we try to get through hundreds of appointments and our teams will continue to work hard to ensure those waiting will be able to sit their test as quickly as possible. https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/licence-test-appointments-re

14.01.2022 Looking for work

13.01.2022 Unfortunately there has been no changes to permission for Learners to drive following yesterday’s announcements. I know it feels like forever, but hang in there, your safety is worth the wait...

11.01.2022 Answers to meaning of line markings below a. A single continuous line. You can cross continuous lines to enter or leave a road. You can’t overtake or do a U-turn even if it is safe to do so. b. A broken and continuous line. Depending on which way you are travelling, this line will have different meanings. On the solid side? You can’t overtake or perform a U-turn. You can cross the line if you are entering or leaving the road. On the dotted side? You can overtake or do a U-...turn if it is safe to do so. c. A broken dividing line. You can cross a broken line to enter or leave a road. You can overtake or do a U-turn if it is safe to do so. Good job to all that got this correct! 11.01.2022 The lovely Mollie joined the circle of Diamonds on the roads today. What a great drive test. Well done Mollie Dickason. Since our first lesson Mollie and I have had animal encounters on our drives. Our very first lesson, Mollie had 1 hour driving experience and we were in back streets of Hurstbridge.... we come around the corner and there are kangaroos everywhere.. hopping down the road in front of us, beside us, in the gardens of houses around us. don’t worry Mollie I said, just drive slow... I want to take some photos.... what had Mollie got herself into... lol Mollie, you are just lovely, and may your animal encounters be now over and done with. #anotherdiamonddriverontheroad

10.01.2022 Congratulations to the lovely Paris on a great drive test today. As soon as we arrived at VicRoads the rain started and it continued until we got back. The tester complimented Paris on a great drive. On the way home I asked who does she owe the most rides to, and like many others, Keera Franceschini was on top of her list ... best wishes Paris #anotherdiamonddriverontheroad

05.01.2022 SPEED LIMIT CHANGE: IRONBARK ROAD speed limit has been reduced from 80km to 60km for its entirety. This will add an extra 36 SECONDS to your journey from one end to the other. This will help protect residents on Ironbark Road and surrounding streets who have poor visibility when entering the road due to the road being so bendy.... It may also help drivers to see and prepare for potential wildlife hazards. #TowardsZero See more

It had been over 12 months since I had seen Jacob and due to COVID restrictions we were unable to do lessons to prepare for today. But Jacob did great, in the unfamiliar area and under the pressure of a test. Well done champ. #anotherdiamonddriverontheroad
