24.01.2022 Sessions for this Semester started on February 6, 2017. We have some availability for new clients. We have special arrangements with some very inclusive schools who make private rooms available for sessions. Most often these sessions replace LOTE lessons. The sessions are one on one, with each learner having a planned program to suit their individual needs and concerns. We encourage knowledge sharing with teaching staff and parents. We use a variety of evidence based multi-...sensory programs to accomplish a good fit program for each student. Please contact us for your specific learning needs.

18.01.2022 Trying to understand the importance of repetitive sound practice is difficult. Studies suggest increasing the frequency of that practice through sessions with our service and supported by repeating practiced sounds in Daily homework increases a dyslexic students ability to rewire the brain to more easily process language, reading and writing tasks. Take a look at this study.

15.01.2022 Gabrieli, John DE. "Dyslexia: a new synergy between education and cognitive neuroscience." science 325.5938 (2009): 280-283. Reading is essential in modern societies, but many children have dyslexia, a difficulty in learning to read. Dyslexia often arises from impaired phonological awareness, the auditory analysis of spoken language that relates the sounds of language to print. Behavioral remediation, especially at a young age, is effective for many, but not all, children. Ne...uroimaging in children with dyslexia has revealed reduced engagement of the left temporo-parietal cortex for phonological processing of print, altered white-matter connectivity, and functional plasticity associated with effective intervention. Behavioral and brain measures identify infants and young children at risk for dyslexia, and preventive intervention is often effective. A combination of evidence-based teaching practices and cognitive neuroscience measures could prevent dyslexia from occurring in the majority of children who would otherwise develop dyslexia. See more

04.01.2022 Our service received this affirmation for literacy services we provide. As a follow up to our telephone conversation last night I want to thank you in writing for the help you have given me and the benefits I have already received with improved reading from our sessions. ... It has been very frustrating that the very thing I came to you for has forced me to make a decision about the tutoring because of increased work pressure and the time it takes me to complete that work talk about a catch 22. I havent enjoyed the uncomfortable emotions from the past that have come up as I have been working with you, but you helped me with that by encouraging me and affirming what I had managed to do for myself in the past and the progress I was making with you. I was like a kid at times, I got really excited when I was stuck in front of my class and was then able to pause and sound a word out in my head like you taught me, then spell it correctly that was the first time in 50 years I was able to do that. I was really looking forward to what other progress I was going to make but not to be. I have sent an email off to DSF informing them of my decision and letting them know of the benefits that I gained from my short time working with you and recommended you as someone who is really good at working with adults. Thank you once again Dianne
