22.01.2022 On Wednesday 18 Nov 2020 at 7:30, Buddhist Teacher Sarah Primus will give a lecture on the Teacher and Student Relationship at the Perth Diamond Way Centre. In Diamond Way Buddhism, the Teacher, or Lama, is a central figure who provides inspiration and guidance. They show an example how a realised being behaves and benefits people. The student, for their part, needs to critically check out the teacher to see if they are someone they can rely on. A qualified teacher, or lama, ...is a living reflection of our own perfect qualities, and the resonance we feel with them is essential to using the quick and direct methods of Diamond Way Buddhism. Fortunately, lamas are people we can meet, ask critical questions of, and even travel with. Today, our contemporary examples include Lama Ole Nydahl and H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje. Please join us to find out more, ask any questions that you have, and take part in a guided meditation. Entry is free but donations are appreciated. For any enquiries please contact us on (08) 6392 7836, email [email protected] or visit http://diamondway.org.au/perth . . . . #buddhism #buddhismtoday #diamondway #karmakagyu #diamondwaybuddhism #lamaolenydahl #hannahnydahl #meditate #meditation #laybuddhism #buddha #enlightenment #calm #happiness #happy #perth #bibralake #buddhistcentre #sangha #dharma #karmapa #liberation #spiritual #meaningful #mind #mahamudra #australia #westernaustralia #peaceful #mindfulness

15.01.2022 On Wednesday 20 January 2021 at 7:30 pm, Buddhist Teachers Michelle Corby and Olga Mangler will give a lecture on "The Six Liberating Actions at the Perth Diamond Way Centre. "If you think about yourself you have problems. If you think about others you have interesting tasks and challenges." - Lama Ole Nydahl In Diamond Way Buddhism we understand that the path to finding our own power and wisdom starts with helping others find theirs.... More precisely, this path is the Bodhisattva approach to Buddhism, and the six liberating actions (or six paramitas) are the quintessential methods to help others while also bringing long-term benefit to our own mind. The six liberating actions, also known as the six paramitas, prescribe actions - combined with Buddhist wisdom - that will efficiently bring us closer to enlightened states of mind. These actions form the liberating basis for the highly exciting and expedient path of Diamond Way Buddhism. This lecture on The Six Liberating Actions will describe how we practically apply these methods and consciously cultivate compassion and insight into the nature of mind through: Being generous Living a meaningful lifestyle Developing patience Applying joyful effort Meditation Gaining wisdom and integrating it into everything we do The lecture starts at 7:30pm. Please join us to find out more, ask any questions that you have, and take part in a guided meditation. Entry is free but donations are appreciated. 14.01.2022 On Wednesday 2 December, at 7:30pm, Buddhist Teachers Olga and Wolf Mangler will give an introduction to Diamond Way Buddhism at the Perth Diamond Way Centre. The goal of Buddhism is a state of lasting, unconditional happiness known as enlightenment. To bring us to this state, Buddhism points us to lasting values in this impermanent world, and gives us valuable information about how things really are. Through understanding the law of cause and effect, using practical tools li...ke meditation to gain insight and develop compassion and wisdom, we all of us can tap into our potential to realize the ultimate goal of enlightenment. If we really pay attention, we can see that everything in the outside world is changing. Quickly like a candle flame or slowly like a mountain, even the most solid things change. They have no truly permanent essence. Our inner world of thoughts and feelings is in the same state of constant change. The more we realize how everything is impermanent and dependent on many conditions, the healthier a perspective we can keep on our lives, our relationships, possessions, and values focusing on what truly matters. If everything comes and goes, is there anything that stays? According to Buddhism, the only thing that is always present is the awareness in which all these experiences and phenomena appear. This awareness is not only timeless but also inherently joyful. To recognize this timeless awareness here and now means to become enlightened, and it is the ultimate goal of Buddhism. From a Buddhist perspective happiness and joy do not depend on outer conditions, which change constantly, but on the experiencer of all phenomena mind itself. -Lama Ole Nydahl, Buddha and Love The lecture starts at 7:30pm. Please join us to find out more, ask any questions that you have, and take part in a guided meditation. Entry is free but donations are appreciated. For more information email [email protected] phone 6392 7836 or visit diamondway.org.au/perth.
