15.01.2022 After 30 years, I have moved house - all in the mad scramble of a much too short, poorly planned crazy few weeks. This past period has been a dry one creatively. Although so easy to lose oneself in the dreamworld of painting, the process of throwing out, sorting, and shifting my whole life from one place to another, during a particularly wet and cold winter, took precedence. All half finished are pen and wash artworks of a (now) dead rabbit, (it was a pretty rabbit when i...t was alive), a pic of Grasswrens in their natural environment, and my Children's book which has been `on the shelf' unfinished for far too long. Although I still have to unpack my life all over again, I figure I have at least 20 years to settle in, so the creativity must rise again!!

05.01.2022 ROGER ROSELLA Part I A story too long to post in one session - I have divided this saga into a number of parts. So, what has the story of an Adelaide Rosella to do with DianAmal Art? It shows the close contact with native animals that inspires creativity. It provides the `food' to feed the `appetite' of this artist. You feel very close to a parrot when it's beak is firmly gripping a finger, or it's nibbling your ear ...whilst perched on your shoulder. And you begin to understand the workings of the subject for your next bird painting, as you admire the perfection of each red feather close-up, blood dripping from each beak hold. So, I begin this story, posting that about 3 weeks ago, my beautiful, crazy Adelaide Rosella, `Roger', escaped from his aviary, and disappeared into the openness of outer Nairne.
