24.01.2022 Weve had numerous inquiries about the limits on indoor fitness classes, including dance, from 1 June. While there is a limit of 20 people permitted to be in a ...gym room doing individual workouts, there is a limit of 10 people for indoor fitness classes and activities (not including staff). Why? Put simply, we are acting on the advice of our public health professionals. Listening and acting on the health advice is one of the reasons why South Australia is in such an enviable position. Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier has outlined why a limit of 10 people will be applied to indoor fitness classes for the time being: Overseas experience has shown a number of outbreaks associated with indoor, high-intensity fitness classes. Research shows the moist, warm atmosphere in an indoor sports facility, coupled with turbulent air flow generated by intense physical exercise, can cause more dense transmission of isolated droplets. Essentially, there is less risk when an individual uses static gym equipment, compared to high-intensity fitness or dance class. The synchronised breathing and exertion in fitness or dance class leads to greater risk of droplet spread. We know that these restrictions are preventing some people from doing the things they love, but we will be reviewing them on a regular basis. We don't want these restrictions to be in place for a second longer than they have to be. I sincerely thank South Australians for their patience as we all tackle this unprecedented situation.

23.01.2022 All our students who continued to attend online classes during Covid-19 closure were rewarded at the end of term with certificates from the International Dance Teachers Association for dancing over the rainbow. Well done everyone and thank you to parents/families for your support.

23.01.2022 Due to the lockdown, we were unable to be with our granddaughter on her fourth birthday this week. She likes to wander into my office when she comes over and st...rum my guitar on its stand. Thats usually a sign that shed like me to play a song for her. One of the books that we have for her to read when shes here is Michael Rosens popular story Were Going on a Bear Hunt, illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. A year or so ago, I set the text to the tune of an old folk song we used to sing at junior school called The Keel Row. It proved so popular that she asks to hear it whenever she comes to visit. Unable to see her this birthday, I decided to record the song and send it to her instead. Perhaps you know someone who might like to hear it too.

For those of you out there who are key workers, nurses, doctors, medics, shop workers, care workers, teachers, forces, etc, I salute you. I hope we can get back to normal again soon. 18.01.2022 Latest Latest News! - The government have now eased restrictions in SA so, I was hoping we would be in class next week from 1st June onward as 20 people were permitted in sessions. However, the government seem to be changing the boundaries and now only 10 people (excluding me) can be in the room at any time for most classes, this makes it impossible to run classes - I will keep you posted as soon as I know more, please bear with me but, for now, we may be carrying on with online classes for a little longer. Watch this space - it may change again!
