23.01.2022 Tip # 2 for the young entrepreneurs and start ups... Do More. The Gary Vs of the work would call this "hustle". Its basically the same. Its early days, so you simply need to do more. Multiply your efforts on what you know works and then expand your focus into other areas to spread the risk and build value. Doing more doesnt mean go crazy and try everything you can to build your business. Its about using your time to build momentum with a strategy the pushes the limits o...f your efforts. Follow the 80/20 rule. 80% of your efforts in what you know creates business, 20% into new territory. The crazy thing is that as you do more, you build momentum. How many times have you hear "the harder I work the more lucky I get"?? Its momentum that is building that "luck" The amount you can learn as a start up or young entrepreneur simply by doing more effectively is huge factor for your success 3-5 years down the track. You build and amass a huge pile of experience equity by learning on the job and doing as much as you can to understand what works and what doesnt by being in the trenchs, making it happen. Tag a mate in business who needs to do more.

19.01.2022 Tip # 4 Be Shrek. Stand out from the crowd. Its a busy marketplace out there and our worlds are very, very noisy. So you need to stand out from all the other people doing the same thing as you. ... Can you position yourself in a niche area? Can you brand yourself differently? Break the status quo of your industry. Positioning yourself in a niche is a great way to do this. And both a cost effective and energy effective way to start from scratch. Becoming the absolute go to women or man in a particular genre is a very powerful brand to setup and helps create valuable brand equity when you are ready to diversify into other niches. Having 2 or 3 niches is a very effective method of scale rather than going in broad scoped. You just gotta stand out!

09.01.2022 Tip # 5 Value your time. Similar to tip # 1 however this is about how to use your time to be your most effective self. Pick apart your daily role; tasks and delegate the non money making tasks as soon as possible to someone else. Either your mum/dad, friend, intern or outsource it to a VA. If you can bring in a client worth $5,000 over their lifetime value for every 4 hour block you spend on admin then its worth paying someone else to handle the muck. ... Ive had plenty of clients tell me they are stuck under a mountain of paperwork. Which for the sake of putting in an admin support for a few hundred dollars a week; they can then go out and grow their business. Simple really. Get out of the muck as soon as possible.. cash flow permitting of course.

09.01.2022 Last week I had a coaching session with a young entrepreneur who is starting out in a creative industry and the convo was great as it lead to giving him some basic "to dos" to get his business basics and his goals aligned properly. This has lead to me to throwing out some basic tips for young entrepreneurs who are starting out and need to get some of the starting "stuff" correct. Will drop 1 tip each day. ... Tip # 1 Know the difference between FREE and VALUE. If youre getting started be careful of how to value your product to get traction and client numbers on the board. Its really common for people starting out to give away their services to friends, colleagues, friends of friends etc to get "experience" before they have the confidence to charge for their services correctly. This is a big trap as it makes it super hard to ask for payment once you feel the time is right from those early clients. HOWEVER; there is value in "interning" your services for free to either a mentor or highly experienced operator in your field. Go and work for someone you can learn off for free 2 days a month or similar. AS the value youll get on that 2 days will out strip working for months for free for friends to gain that elusive experience. Free Vs Value - One is a loss and one is a gain. Tag a mate who is just starting out or giving too much away for FREE!!

05.01.2022 "Engagement" has been a hot word for me lately. Engagement in community Engagement with clients Engagement with teams... Engagement with collaborators One of the key lessons that has popped up for me in each of these areas listed above and more; is the innovation of HOW to motivate and engage people. Its becoming clearer to me that the way of the future is to transact in "value" to REALLY engage people; to both take action; but more importantly to create outcomes through collaboration. Im working with a few teams at the moment as a, strategy, leadership and culture consultant; providing key overview coaching to teams to keep them on track and firing on all cylinders. One of the outcomes Ive worked on with great results is fostering a culture of value adding collaboration; between all team members, from any department. Getting senior managers, and team leaders to look to each other as ask the question of "where can I bring you value" rather than "I need help with....". The results in teamwork, ongoing synergy and overall harmony has been resounding; which of course, are reflected in the numbers. the next time you are faced with either a collaboration opportunity in business or in your next meeting; ask yourself where can I transact in value today?

01.01.2022 Tip # 3 for Young entrepreneurs and start ups... Clarity in your pitch. If you cant articulate it in one or two sentences; then figure it out. Now you need to have a clear value proposition in your pitch. Your pitch is not WHAT YOU DO.. its WHAT VALUE YOU DELIVER AND HOW YOU DELIVER IT.... This doesnt have to be over complicated, or groundbreakingly stunning to stop people in their tracks. You just need an honest overview of what you do and how you do it. Are you a videographer or are you a videographer who helps businesses bring their companies to life? Put some thought into it. Spend a day ironing it out; test it out, change it, improve it; the write it down and know it backwards. Remember - If you cant describe it fluently and precisely; then how are you going to sell it??
