24.01.2022 Well done to the fantastic DD Eagles. Today we played in the final and secured 3rd place by winning 57-52 against quality opposition. It was only in the last few minutes of the game that we took the lead - game could have gone either way. Thanks to all who played this season.

24.01.2022 Today the DD Eagles played off in a top of the table clash. The best 2 teams were both undefeated and our players did everything they could to get the win for our playing coach's 50 birthday (Big Gav). Unfortunately we went down by one goal - so we will now play off for Bronze next week. Well played Eagles.

21.01.2022 Our team supported Jeans for Genes Day last week by having a lovely morning tea together to raise money for the Children’s Medical Research Institute. Together we raised over $120 and looked great doing it too! (Yes there is a lot of double denim in there, with our best dressed Beau even daring to wear triple denim!) ... A big thank you to our team for all getting involved raising money for such a great cause!!!

21.01.2022 Another great win by the DD Eagles in the local AFL 9s competition this afternoon. We won 79 to 36. Go Eagles.

21.01.2022 There are many questions being asked lately about claiming expenses when forced to work from home over the COVID-19 period, plus a lot of concern about any consequent capital gains issues when later selling a property from which people have been coerced to work from during this time. Get the answers in the May edition of our newsletter! http://www.dickfosdunn.com.au/newsletters

16.01.2022 The eligibility criteria for employees (and business participants) for Jobkeeper payments has changed from Monday 3 August 2020. For the final four fortnights of the current Jobkeeper scheme (Fortnights 10 to 13) the reference date for employee eligibility will generally change from 1 March 2020 to 1 July 2020. The revised eligibility criteria are as follows:... the individual is employed by the entity at any time in the fortnight including those stood down or re-hired; on 1 July 2020 the individual was aged 18 or over (or if they were if 16 or 17 years old on 1 March 2020 they were independent or not undertaking full-time study); on 1 July 2020 the individual was either a full-time, part-time or fixed-term permanent employee, or a long-term casual employee; on 1 July 2020 the individual was either an Australian resident for social security law purposes, or a tax resident and held a special category Subclass 444 visa the individual agrees to be nominated by the employer as an eligible employee; and the individual does not receive the Government’s paid parental leave or dad and partner pay, or workers’ compensation payments for total incapacity for work, at any time during the fortnight. Please contact your client manager at Dickfos Dunn to discuss this. It is essential that all eligible employees are added to your Jobkeeper records and paid the minimum fortnightly gross wages for fortnights 10 to 13 to remain eligible for Jobkeeper payments.

10.01.2022 The Instant Asset Write-Off tax boost has been extended for another six months. The increased Instant Asset Write-Off threshold of $150,000 will now be extended until 31 December 2020, and applies to businesses with annual turnovers of up to $500 million. Under the Government's previous announcement, the increased support scheme was available until 30 June 2020, however the introduction of the six-month extension aims to help businesses which have been hit by supply chain de...lays caused by the pandemic. The Instant Asset Write-Off allows small businesses to claim an immediate deduction for new or second-hand plant & equipment asset purchases, such as vehicles, tools, and office equipment. To receive the deduction, the assets must be first used or installed to use in the income year you're claiming. If we can be of any assistance to you in relation to this, please do not hesitate to contact us on (07) 5532 7855.

08.01.2022 Last Friday we decided to put down the calculators and pick up some golf clubs to celebrate our September quarterly function at Top Golf. What a great day hanging out with our colleagues. A few people surprised us with their golf talent, but turns out most of us should probably stick to accounting. A great way to relax before heading into the busy Christmas period coming up.

The Christmas party is always a highlight and and a chance to reflect on the year that was (over some amazing food and drinks - of course!) ... We look forward to another successful and exciting year ahead.
