23.01.2022 Ok so tomorrow your healthcare fund premiums will rise so today is the day to make a call and save real $$$. Following on from all the talk I've heard recently about calling your health fund and asking the "better deal" question, I bit the bullet and called. This is what I was offered without ANY pressure. 1. A review of policy level, was quickly established I was paying for things we didn't need (saved $50 p/m), they offered to lock in current premium for 12 months if I paid... up front, plus they gave me 1 month FREE for choosing to stay with them. So in all over the next 12 months I've saved $50 p/m reduced cover (no major dental crowns/implants etc) + $40 for locking in at todays rates (beat tomorrows rise)+ 1 month free = ~ $1400 saved from one phone call. My advice is make the time today to call your health fund, you WILL save something - it may not be $1400 but hey it's worth 10 mins of your time to find out what you will save. Note: also don't be afraid to change health funds TODAY. A report released yesterday shows non-for-profit funds such as HCF pay MORE in benefits and cost LESS in premiums for like for like cover than the for-profit companies (BUPA/Medibank/NIB etc) See more

15.01.2022 If you didn't already know today you can check when the NBN will roll past your door and what "technology" you'll be getting. If you see FTTP you're grinning, anything else unfortunately you're getting Turnbulls idea of broadband which we already know can't stream HD content without significant buffering. See http://www.nbnco.com.au and check your address.
