23.01.2022 On Wednesday we had Principal's Pancakes to raise money and support Jean's For Genes Day! Craig and the student leadership group cooked up a feast with all options on offer, including vegan, lactose and gluten free pancakes with toppings galore! We can't divulge the secret batter recipe but it sure worked in raising funds to support Children's Medical Research. Music students performed live, creating a buzzing atmosphere! The double and tripple denim outfits were awesome!
23.01.2022 Don't forget Principal's Pancakes in the canteen tomorrow at recess. We have trialled the batter, including a vegan/gluten-free one. I have tried them both and YUM! The student leadership group and I will have maple syrup, vegan, lactose and gluten-free friendly vanilla yoghurt, cream, strawberry and apricot jam available for the toppings. Don’t forget that we are raising money for Jean’s for Genes Day so wear your denim and please bring a gold coin to support the Children’s Medical Research Institute. See you tomorrow at recess!

20.01.2022 A gift of appreciation to the staff of DC. Staff at DC received a wonderful surprise this morning, a card and a bag of chocolate for staff in each faculty area. This kind gift was from a group of DC parents and families, acknowledging the extraordinary efforts of our staff over this difficult semester. Pictured below are Di and Donna who organised and delivered the bags of chocolates to the college today. Thank you so much, the staff appreciated the gesture immensely.

05.01.2022 Join us in making history! We’re calling on the Canberra school community to participate in our journal writing project, Moments in Time. Through the project we... hope to capture students’ and families' experiences during this pivotal stage in history. Student voice is a key foundation of the Future of Education Strategy and Director-General, Katy Haire is encouraging you to record your observations, feelings and experiences through this collaborative project. For the next ten weeks, Katy will provide a writing prompt to respond to, and the first week's theme of Change is currently live on our page. Here you can read and listen to the featured journal entry from the Director-General herself as well as a local Canberra school teacher. Your words will be greatly appreciated and valued by ACT Education and provide insight for current and future Canberrans. Happy journaling! http://ow.ly/msTm50zsF96
05.01.2022 Don't forget to wear purple to DC tomorrow! Wear it Purple Day 2020 Friday 28th August Wear it Purple Day is about showing LGBTIQ+ young people they have the right to be proud of who they are. It is about creating safe spaces in schools, universities, workplaces and public spaces to show LGBTIQ+ young people that they are seen and supported. ... Last year over 750 schools, community organisations and universities held events across Australia, and through the activities of schools that recognise Wear it Purple Day, we reached an estimated 600,000 young people, seeing the respect, acceptance and inclusion that surrounds them. IT ALL STARTED WHEN in 2010 in response to global stories of real teenagers, real heartache and their very real responses. In 2010, several rainbow young people took their own lives following bullying and harassment resulting from the lack of acceptance of their sexuality or gender identity. So .. let’s all WEAR PURPLE AT DC ON FRIDAY 28 AUGUST 2020! Cupcakes and wristbands available at Recess See more
