25.01.2022 Electoral Commission of Queensland needs to ban the practice of volunteers handing out "how to vote" cards immediately! The Prime Minister has just announced t...ougher measures stating people should practice "social distancing" being 1.5 metres apart where ever possible. This is part of brand new measures announced this morning to protect us against COVID-19. This photo was taken at Bribie Island Prepoll on Monday morning and it has been the same at other polling booths. They are not 1.5 metres apart. We need to act now to slow the spread of the virus. All candidates in the Redland City Council have now agreed not to hand out how to vote cards and we shouldn't either. If the ECQ won't ban it, I'm challenging the other candidates here in Moreton Bay Regional Council to do the right thing and not hand out how to vote cards this election at pre-poll or on election day. We need to protect the vulnerable people in our community.

There are so many people who need help with issues of: crime, children falling throug...h the cracks at school, and wait list for dental surgery, to name a few. 16.01.2022 Newsflash: An unregistered lease for a term (including options) greater than 3 years IS valid! Actually this isn't news, its always been the case but often m...isundersood. If you are the tenant of retail, office or industrial (commercial) premises in Queensland, you should register your 3+ years lease on the title for your own protection (in case the owner sells while you are the tenant). If you are the landlord, registration is of little consequence to you: failure to register doesn't mean that your lease is invalid - you, and if you sell, the new owner, can keep the tenant to their obligations under the lease. #leases #propertylaw

14.01.2022 Yesterday, I visited the Health Hub at Morayfield and had a great discussion with director Dr Evan Jones. Dr Jones shared their vision of a one stop shop for... all medical issues. The Health Hub is unique as it has an ambulance drop off point where category 5, 4 and some category 3 patients in ambulances can be seen. This takes a load of our public hospital system. The NDIS office is based there, along with many other services. I am looking forward to meeting as many of our local GPs as I can, their service and commitment to our area is much appreciated.
