24.01.2022 Sadly i need to inform DSC members of the passing of Shirley Gourgaud who was the very long time wife of our most esteemed member Darryl Seto, Shirley passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on the weekend, the family is organising a wake at the Belconnen arts centre next Monday 21st Dec. at 2.00pm.....ironically Shirley was very recently instrumental in saving the life of Darryl who suffered a major heart attack just before the squash pennant began 20th October, Shirley's quic...k and positive action is the main reason that Darryl is here with us today, i have spoken to Darryl and passed on condolences on our behalf....Darryl will no longer be playing squash due to his recent medical condition, but most will know Darryl as he is a very long time playing member that participated in all Club activities, and though he has not been on the committee, he has served the club behind the scenes in a voluntary capacity for many years, and in particular as an IT specialist helping the club to make the transition from manually organising our infrastructure to the more complicated computer set up, and since, looking after and maintaining our Club's Web site and ongoing IT issues....a selfless and unpretentious member.... i will be at the wake.... 21.01.2022 In recent times i have been keeping in touch with some of our past players of yesteryears, one of them being Warren Wood who now resides in the UK, from the mid 70' through to the mid 80's Warren was Dickson’s no 1 player, and if memory serves correctly also the ACT's no 1 player, during his time with the club he served the Dickson squash club very well, Warren was also involved in the preparation of representative teams when they were competing against their State opponents, some of you would remember the players on this photo, Stephen Lacy, Ralph Richardson, Warren Wood and Andrew Coyle who all served the Dickson squash club well during the clubs early years. This team was also ACT 1st Grade champions for 1982

01.01.2022 To Dickson squash club members and in particular forthcoming spring pennant players, Bringing you up to date with what is happening for the forthcoming spring pennant 2020. one thing for sure, it is still happening! We are delaying the start it by a week to give players from other clubs the opportunity to register their intentions and bolster the numbers for the competition, we here at Dickson are on par with numbers from the last pennant that was terminated after round 3 d...ue to Covis-19, the spring competition will begin Tuesday the 29th September, run for 10 weeks, the final week will be Tuesday the 1st December, there will not be any finals due to the new League format that will be introduced and trialled. Players that participated and paid their registration fees in the unfinished autumn pennant will not have to pay any SRA registration fees, except the week by week court hire fee, and of course you will need to renew your annual club membership, though most of you have already done so. We will be in touch soon to advise you of League structures and draws..Division 2 players will be Team structured as in the past, they will not be part of the League set up.
