23.01.2022 There is not much hiking for me over Summer. It becomes a time to rest, marketing and planning for 2021 and beyond. Today I was with my good mate and Chairperson Francis of the new Didier Walks Not-for-profit arm Hikefulness Australia. We completed our rules to apply to be an Incorporated Association, that was hard work! We will offer specific hiking programs for people with mental health challenges. ... If you would like more information about participation either as a client, interest or supporting a program financially please contact me on [email protected]
22.01.2022 I will be at the Jarrahdale screening of Cry Of The Forests this evening. I will be helping out at a desk with how ever I can assist and I'm also available to have a chat about Didier Walks and Hikefulness Australia. Great job Francis Smit who organised this important event, my good mate and HIkefulness Australia Chairperson, what a champion! The movie is also showing at a number of cinemas in the metro area. Both Jarrahdale and Dwellingup are building extraordinary outdoor... activity, nature based industries, the state govt are funding millions towards it, but they also support the destruction of forest around the towns, it makes no sense at all! It's seems obvious what is the more positive outcome and future! If you attend, come say hi

16.01.2022 We are very fortunate to have here in WA a hiking trail that you can enjoy for one hour or a couple of months. You can meet beautiful people along the way or see nobody at all for a week. It’s totally free and no bookings are required. ... You simply have to be willing and take some action
04.01.2022 This last week when the weather calmed down, it was a few degrees cooler again in Dwellingup. I wanted to spend 4 days along the Murray River on the Bibbulmun , enjoy a swim each day. I invited my nephew Sheldon (16), niece Maddie (13) and friend Emma (16) to join me. During this hike together they surpassed collectively 1000 hiking kms. I’m proud as most of them were achieved on my youth hikes. To be safe I had a sat phone which allowed me to gather any weather and fire in...formation. I always also have a PLB. On the longer days of 19km we carried 4 litres of water. They are experienced hikers now, they take care of themselves. Maddie 13 has over 200 km herself. We had a great time, it wasn’t an easy hike in low 30’s but we don’t hike for an easy ride. It stretches us, makes us stronger mentally and physically. Watching them evolve is so awesome. . . . #dukeofed #dukeofedinburghaward #dukeofedaus #youthhiking #ajourneytoyourperfectself #hikingperth #dwellingup #bibbulmuntrack #familyhike #teenhealth #teenmentalhealth See more
