24.01.2022 After completing a major job and getting a great sense of satisfaction out of that alone, some customers get you a carton of beer etc which is dont get me wrong bloddy tops (and don't stop lol) But i dont think you can beat what murray and cathy york went out of there way to say thanks with after replacing their ZD30 engine with a td42t in there patrol. Murray has served in Afghanistan as a high ranking officer and aircraft refueller in the army for the last few years keepin...g him away from his wife and kids so helping him out was the least we could do. He called in yesterday with a framed Aus flag Which he had flown on an american refueling jet on a combat mission over iraq last year just for DPS i rekon thats UNREAL. 19.01.2022 I hope everyone is having a great holiday :) With the end of the rush, I've been able to Dyno the Gturbo Hilux. It's pretty hot here right now, and hard to get ...a decent run with the auto, but managed a best of 240kW with rich AFRs. So it's currently a consistent 234kW (313whp) right now at 43psi, 16-17:1 AFRs. I do have a few more things to try, so possibly do a bit more next week. I did a dead flat 20:1 AFR run to see what it could do - dead on 200kW, 37psi and totally clean. As usual all figures at wheels, no temperature correction. The run is in third on auto with lockup. Unfortunately it only locks up in third at 2000rpm and very easily unlocks making the possibility to show off the bottom end difficult to say the least, but even so you can see the torque jumps right up. I do plan to fit a manual lockup on it so that will make it easy. I also did a few 4th gear (overdrive) runs from 1500rpm and those did OK, about 226kW and 25psi at 2000rpm.
