24.01.2022 Today at Dieselequip we discovered the destruction caused by a timing belt that broke in a Ford Ranger. These broken rockers highlight the importance of proper maintenance of your vehicle and ensuring replacement of timing belts on time as it can cause costly damage.

23.01.2022 Carbon build up caused by a leaking injector washer can cause more damage then most realise. These photos show the carbon build up in the cylinder head and on the injector on a Holden Rodeo/Colorado, caused by a leaking injector washer. The last photo, however, shows the carbon that has ended up in the engine oil being sucked up into the oil pick up and restricting (with the possibility of blocking completely if left too long) oil flow. This can lead to catastophic engine damage.

21.01.2022 Evidence that the upmost care must be taken when removing glow plugs. Tips can become brittle over time and easily break off like this one and fall into the engine and cause damage. If you think your glow plugs are on the way out we can offer a glow plug testing service and carry a large range of new glow plugs to cover just about every need. Almost 900 individual glow plugs in stock.

21.01.2022 Another successfull turbo conversion at Dieselequip, making up a custom turbo assembly and fitting it to a Toyota Dyna 3000. The conversion has increased the performance of the vechicle aswell as clearing up previous smoke issues and providing smooth and efficent running. 12.01.2022 The cold weather has moved in and with that brings the start of GLOW PLUG season. At Dieselequip we carry over 100 different part numbers of glow plugs to suit just about every passenger car, utility, truck, tractor and stationary engine in the area. We can also arrange fittment if you need. 10.01.2022 Here at Dieselequip we recomend fitting a secondary fuel filter system to all common rail diesel vehicles to help with the protection of your fuel system. Repairs to common rail fuel systems can be costly so fitting a quality secondary fuel filter to help prevent problems can save alot of money and time in the long run. We use Fuel Manager fuel elements with a 2 micron filter paper, fitted as a secondary unit. We recomend fitting as a secondary as this allows the water warnin...g sensor to operate as normal in the vehicle and allows the filter to catch all the particles and water that happen to make it past the standard filter. At Dieselequip we can supply you with everything you need to fit a secondary fuel filter system to your vehicle. We have pre-made kits ready to go with vehicle specific brackets for neat and tidy fittment, the filter assembly and all the bolts, hoses and fittings required to complete the job. If you dont have tyhe time to fit it yourself we can also arrange fittment here at the shop. 09.01.2022 Available at Dieselequip are boost controllers.These little devices fit up easily and allow you to be in control of the boost your car runs. To go with your boost controller you will probably need a boost gauge, if you dont already have one, so you can see what your boost pressure is doing. We carry boost gauges as well that are easy to install. However if fitting them up is not something you wish to do, we can organise fitting for you and talk to you about the safest boost to run in your car.

06.01.2022 Next week Ross, Margie and Courtney are off to Darwin for the 2016 Australian Training Awards where Courtney, our newly qualified apprentice, is nominated as a finalist for the Australian Apprentice Of the Year ( well done Courtney and Dieselequip). Whilst they are away, everything will still run as normal back at Dieselequip in Inverell where Grant and Duane will be able to help you everything diesel.

04.01.2022 Today we would like to show you a sample of bad or contaminated diesel which can be catastrophic for diesel engines. This sample was taken out of a holden rodeo fuel filter and is full of water and algae. In a common rail system allowing this into the pump, rail and injectors causes major damage and can be costly to fix. This is why it is important that you ensure you keep up to date with your servicing and checking and replacing your fuel filter regularly. In the end however..., it isnt always possible to stop algae or water from entering or forming in your fuel system. To cater for this we can supply you with biocide which breaks down the algae and gathers the water at the bottom of your tank and gets it to a state where it can be caught by your fuel filter. The biocide comes in 250ml and 1Ltr bottles. Another safe guard is a secondary fuel filter system which we will discuss in our next post. 02.01.2022 These photos show the damage caused to turbos from dusting. Dusting occours when the air entering the engine has not been filtered properly allowing dust and other particles to pass through into the turbo and damaging the delicate fins. This causes loss of power and can put the turbo out of balance causing complete turbo failure which can then lead to engine damage. To help combat this problem we recommend and supply BMC Air Filters. These are an oiled filter that never has... to be changed it can just be simply washed out and re-oiled. We also stock everything you need to clean and re oil your filters. We also stock UNI Filters for your snorkel. These oiled filters fit on either the head or drop down inside your snorkel and work as an excellent pre filter ( takes out the coarse stuff) If you need any more info dont hesitate to call in and see us or give us a call!
