You might think that letting her eat cake would mean she’d just eat the cake and not touch the fruit, but she’s actually gone for the fruit first. .. The difference is that she knows that all foods are allowed and nothing is off limits. If she wants to eat cake, she has opportunities to eat cake. So, she doesn’t need to gobble up the cake when it’s available. She can listen to her body and follow the signals it send her to eat a mix of foods to give her the nutrition it needs. ..
