23.01.2022 Sweet tooth? No worries!! . . Everyday I assess client's eating behavior and food choices and found a very commen behavior that cause weight gain or slow weight loss rate --- Which is snacking after dinner!!! Some people have snacks or dessert after dinner due to habit. ... Some people use snacks as a relaxation or whine down after a stressful day. Some people continue to eat after dinner simply because they didn't eat regular meals and got too hungry as they haven't had much during the day. If you can make changes and try to have no snack or not even fruit after dinner, this will definitely help with your weight loss journey AND maintain healthy weight. But what if you are struggling? Here are some options for sweet alternatives so you don't increase your blood glucose level further after a carby dinner, which extra glucose gets stored in the fat cells. If you like a sweet drink with or after your dinner meals... Choose lower carb lower sugar options such as Kombucha @goodearth.au @mojobeverages Effervescence @dailyvoost Fruity Tea from @twiningsau @redsealau If you like a sweet snack such as chocolate, why not try @atkinsnutritionals @bodyscience @thesugarlessco range All available from major supermarkets Friendly reminder Enjoy these but start reduce your after dinner snacking frequencies Set SMART goals to make achievable changes Portion does matter. These are low carb, but don't over eat. PM me if you need some help to get started and set direction for your journey. #ideas #weightloss #cravings #sweets #emotionalfood #lowcarb #lowsugar #diabetes #voost #mojo #goodearth #kombucha #feedyoursoul #lovefood #getfit #healthy #healthylifestyle #motivation #lifestyle #dietitianofinstagram #dietitiansj

22.01.2022 Have you had bittermelon before?

08.01.2022 New vegetable!? Have you tried Bittermelon? Yes, it is bitter. I'm starting to like it as I am cooking it more due to family request. Some patients asked me how to cook bittermelon... So here is the recipe. ... Ingredients 1 large Bittermelon 4 Eggs Salt Oil Method 1. Wash the bittermelon and remove seeds 2. Slice it and sprinkle some salt onto the bittermelon to mix well. This removes some water and bitterness. Set aside for 20 minutes. 3. Heat the pan with oil and simmer the bittermelon for 5 minutes or until soften. Stir occasionally. 4. Beat the eggs and pour into the pan evenly covering the bittermelon 5. Close the lid and let the eggs set (like Omelette) 6. Flip the egg and cook the egg until golden 7. Serve with other dishes

03.01.2022 What's for dinner?! Some clients and doctors are interested to know what I cook for dinner, as a dietitian. So I have been taking photos for my dinner meals and upload them here. Usually, I like to include as much vegetable as I can in one meal and combine different colors. Green, red, black, white is a must.... I plan for different cultural dishes. Due to the Vietnamese-Chinese background of my husband and son likes Western food. Monday to Wednesday we have dishes with rice, Thursdays we have something special like pasta or curry or different cultural food, Friday we have dinner with my MIL. For balance, our Weekends are flexible. The week's meal plan is easier to plan out this way. #dinner #rice #vege #culturalfood #mealplan #prep #mealprep #delicious #satisfeed #eats #foodie #feedyoursoul #lovefood #instafood #foodbloggers #getfit #healthy #healthylifestyle #motivation #lifestyle #dietitianofinstagram
