They have been working with construction toys of different shapes and sizes the children have had to decipher how they connect together and what different patterns they make. 23.01.2022 To all of our wonderful families, we understand this is a very difficult time and we are here with you for the next 6 weeks to provide ways to keep your children learning, creative and active during this lockdown. We are still working through information provided by the State Government as to which children we will be able to provide care for during these Stage 4 restrictions. We want to ensure that for all families whether you fall into the permitted category for care or n...ot there is no need to cancel your booking during this time. All of your childrens bookings will remain in place so that once restrictions are removed their booking will still be secured. There will be no payments taken during these Stage 4 restrictions for children not attending and absences over these 6 weeks will not be counted towards your 42 allowed absences each year. We will update you with further information tomorrow so all families are aware of their situation by Thursday. Take care and we are all in this together!

20.01.2022 We would like to give a warm welcome to our amazing new kinder teacher Jaspreet! Hi, My name is Jaspreet and I am the kindergarten teacher at the Y Diggers Rest. I hold a Bachelor of Education and Care (Birth to Five years). I have been working as an early childhood educator for 10 years. I strongly believe that the first five years of children’s lives play an important role towards learning and development. The first five years support them to become independent, confide...nt and knowledgeable citizens in the future. As a Kinder Teacher, I feel honoured to facilitate an active role in promoting the best start for each child. I believe that PLAY is a key for children to unlock the new learning and understanding about their world. I respect that families are the first teacher in their children’s lives. I believe in working together with families and communities to shape children’s lives with consistency and fun-learning. I acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the traditional custodians of this land. I show my humble respect to them, their culture and nature. I believe in using natural resources or loose parts through play. It supports children to learn sustainable practices and appreciate natural resources. I look forward to meeting and working with you and your family. Thank you..

Using a Magnetic Lunch Box the children selected different food items that they felt would work into a healthy lunch box. And as some of these children will be moving on to school next year this was a great way for them to start thinking of the types of food that will help provide their bodies with the right nutrition and energy to get through a busy school day.
