24.01.2022 If you’ve been thinking where have I been, it’s because behind the scenes I’ve been head down working hard. I'm not gonna lie, keeping all the balls in the air at once is sometimes hard and sometimes I drop a few. This last few weeks I've been so deep in developing a new business idea and seeing how quickly I can take it from concept to launch, that posting on social just slipped away. ... But the exciting part is that my hard work is paying off and tomorrow, after a solid month of going hard, I'm ready to launch. I'll share with you how I've done it, how it goes and my tips along the way. I'm a big believer in practicing what I preach and since I'm coaching so many businesses to do exactly this, I wanted to see how quickly I could do it and what the key actions are that need to happen along the way, along with all my stuff ups and learnings throughout the journey! 13.01.2022 Mmmmm dreaming of a finished pool I've been renovating and dealing with lots of Tradies lately and it's made me realise how much missed potential there is for Tradies. ... They are so busy 'doing the work' that their isn't much time for marketing and systems. Today, I just wanted to share some simple tips for Tradies to help BRING IN MORE CLIENTS AND GET RAVING REVIEWS! NUMBER 1- Implement some simple systems to keep in regular contact with clients. The thing I've been the most frustrated with renovating is the lack of communication from Tradies. Yep, I know your busy but implementing some simple systems can save you time and keep your customers happy. You'll end up with raving reviews and when things are quiet it's these reviews and referrals that will keep your business going! Ideas - Add a FAQ's page to your website/Facebook page. Share the link with customers early on so they are CLEAR ON EXPECTATIONS. If it takes you a week to do a quote, put that in one of the questions. The more your customers KNOW what to expect the happier they will be. Have a message on your mobile that states the times you will be calling back and expected call back times. Implement an automated messenger bot where you can be contacted for questions and quotes. Automated responses can be set up for frequently asked questions. When issuing quotes lay out expectations in advance. When will job commence, time frames, what is expected of client. What might slow the process down. How often will you communicate. All of this can be created as a template that is part of a SYSTEM you implement. NUMBER 2 - If you do everything well and end up with happy customers. GET REVIEWS!!!! A simple review system can be set up so this process is AUTOMATED. NUMBER 3 - Use Social Media to share your reviews, post pictures of your work. Let everyone know you are an expert in your field. Implementing these simple steps will help you attract more customers and the great part is that most of it can be automated. Do you know who your customers are? How are you helping them? Did you know that the basics of marketing is all about getting YOUR MESSAGE to the RIGHT PEOPLE at the RIGHT TIME? So who are your people? Who is your ideal customer? You know, the one who easily purchases your product and you’d love to have more of. One of the best ways to ensure your marketing is getting to the right people is to know your ideal customer WELL. The more you can understand and know about our ideal customer, the easier it is to build a relationship with them. That’s what marketing is all about. Your goal is to SOLVE A PROBLEM for your ideal customer. Then you need to communicate this in ways that they can easily understand. Here is a few tips to get you started: Brainstorm the problem(s) your ideal customer might have. How are you solving their problems? Find out as much as you can about your ideal customer. Gender, Age, Location, Occupation, Interests, Hobbies, Influencers, Who do they follow, Pages they like, Are they married? Kids? The more you know about your ideal customer the easier it is to target them. Write a list of all the places your ideal customer might look for information (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Google, Newspaper, TV). Ways to find out more about your customers: Survey existing clients Use Google Analytics to see who is visiting your website Facebook Page Insights Instagram Insights Pinterest Analytics Have a look at who your competitors are serving Now, that you have a better understanding of your ideal customer it's easier to work out what marketing will be effective! Many businesses have their websites optimised for keywords that don't drive buying intent. They might send traffic to their site but they would never end up as potential customers. What you want to do is make sure you have keywords in place that are SPECIFIC to your CUSTOMER and DRIVE TRAFFIC that would be int...erested in your product or service. A great place to start is doing some keyword research. Brainstorm keyword ideas (think like a customer). What would they search for? Checkout the competition. Make a list of your competitors, go through their websites and see what keywords they are targeting. 03.01.2022 Have you created a business you love? Or have you created a really busy job for yourself? Sometimes when we get into business, the original plan or the dream we had gets left behind. Waaaaay behind!... When I started my first business, it was all about helping people and doing something I was passionate about. In the early stages, this is exactly what I was doing. I had an online fitness business, I had amazing clients who got amazing results and I could do my work from anywhere. I LOVED IT. Then the business grew, we had a couple of physical locations (bricks and mortar), staff and things were BUSY. We were making great money but I stopped enjoying it. I was constantly BUSY, dealing with staff, generating sales and making a lot more money to pay a lot more expenses. It wasn't what I wanted. Sure, for some people this is THEIR DREAM, but it wasn't mine. For me, having my own business is about doing something I love, which ALSO gives me time to spend with the PEOPLE I LOVE. When you create a business that stops letting you have balance in your life and be true to your values, you won't enjoy it!!! Whenever I make a business decision now, I don't just think about how it will affect the business, I think about how it will affect my LIFE. The picture above is the view from my office. Yep, I work from home because I don't believe I have to sit in an office somewhere else to be productive. Again, this isn't for everyone. Some people LOVE going in to an office. What I'm trying to get at is there is no SET WAY you should set your business up. What you do need to do is constantly ask yourself, is this the business I WANT Is the business model the way I want it Is it working for me and my family If not, make changes. Take a step back from your business and ask yourself what needs to change to have the business you want? Then DO IT. It's amazing how making a decision and implementing it straight away can save you so much time and stress. Always remember, IT'S YOUR BUSINESS. Make it work FOR YOU.
