22.01.2022 Thank you Howard Stephenson for this information. Some retailers are not even stocking AM radios now. We need Digital Stereo sound and access to more stations in Hobart. So we can still feel part of Australia.

21.01.2022 It is not an April fools joke. The commercial stations become DAB+ next week. It will be time to rescan your radio. It has been a long wait to get more stations. Will the local stations in the area join them. THANK YOU everyone who have supported Digital radio for Hobart. Is there more work to do?

09.01.2022 Digital Radio is coming soon to Hobart Some of you would have noticed that Digital Radio (DAB+) transmissions have started appearing in Hobart. We hear an offi...cial "go live" date is going to happen soon! In the meantime, testing is underway and the service seems to work around large areas of Southern Tasmania. Coinciding with this, we understand further work is being/has been done to improve the antennas, including providing a better ABC TV signal on VHF for residents in Hobart suburbs close to the mountain (which has been an issue since the move to digital TV). All indications are that the temporary ABC service on UHF 33 will be switched off over the next few months. Many residents of Lenah Valley, New Town, North Hobart, or West Hobart will need to retune their television set after the UHF is switched off. Some residents may wish to engage the services of a qualified antenna installer to assist them ensure continuous ABC reception. Failing that, we suggest a call to the ABC Reception Advice Line on 1300139994.

08.01.2022 Thank you Josh Agnew for the wonderful news that the equipment is being installed or even finished being installed on Mount Wellington. Perhaps they can turn it on for summer? or at least test it .

08.01.2022 If you are looking for a Stereo DAB+ boom box Harvey Norman have a Sony on Sale for $88 reduced from $139 . I bought one in Hobart but it was the last in stock but they probably would order it in at the same price.

07.01.2022 AT LAST since 2007 we have been wanting to be treated like the other capitals in the 21st Century. The ABC removed many programs from FM to digital an d we lost for example Jazz . The are a lot of community Stations that can now to DAB+ as well as the commercial channels . It is interesting to see who responded to our pleas and who did not. If you vote see who does their job and who does not. I noticed one polly saying it was coming in 2009 Any way It is good we are getting DAB+ at last. May be I can buy a new car with DAB+ or at least I will buy a new radio or sound system. Thank you every body for your support of these frustrating years. regards Ken, Digital Radio for Hobart
