22.01.2022 The PNG Cancer Foundation in partnership with the Remington Group conducted six workshops in Madang last week under the 2019 Cervical Cancer Education Program. ...The program aims to raise awareness on ways to reduce the risk of cervical cancer among the country’s high school youth. Representatives from Remington Group, including Remington Technology Madang Branch Manager Lulu Hota, Remington Technology General Manager Justin Kieseker were also present at Tusbab Secondary and the Good Shepherd High School during the Madang CCE Program visits. Remington Technology General Manager Justin Kieseker said: It’s great to see the students really engaged and listening. Being a part of the cervical cancer education program in Madang has really opened my eyes and I know it has too for the youth who are a part of it. We’re really proud to be a part of this initiative and we can’t wait to take it to more schools across the country where Remington has sales and service centres, Mr Kieseker said. The CCE Program is designed to provide education on cervical cancer to female high school students in grades 10 to 12, with the message of cancer prevention, early detection, and making healthy lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk in the future. Remington Technology Madang Branch Manager Lulu Hota told students at the Madang schools: You are privileged to have benefited from such a program. As a mother, my hope for you is to take the learning to make better life decisions so you can live your dreams. PNGCF Executive Manager Priscillar Napoleon acknowledged the support of Remington Group towards conducting education & awareness in various schools under the CCE Program this year. Ms Napoleon said: Young women can make important lifestyle choices today to protect their families and their future from cancer. It is significant that this message is reaching young women and men today. The new partnership with Remington Group has already seen the delivery of the CCE Program to select schools in Lae and Madang. Throughout the remainder of the year, the strong partnership will see the program being rolled out to more schools across PNG where the Remington Group has sales and service centres including in Port Moresby, Mt.
