25.01.2022 Blog Post: Hands down the best way to get results with your Facebook and Instagram advertising is to use custom audiences to build out your funnel. Read this short how-to.

24.01.2022 Interesting, that our question of the week is centred around the Facebook Pixel, given the updates that Facebook will make on 24th October. Take a read below... Question: How do I convince my boss that the Facebook tracking pixel is important? Answer: Having a Facebook Pixel allows your Facebook advertising to be so much more effective. By placing the pixel on your website allows you to track visitors to your website from all channels, not just Facebook. From this, you can t...hen set up custom audiences and run a re-targeting campaign to those people you know are already interested in your product and service. This can certainly help to lower costs and increase conversions. By not having the pixel means that advertising to your Facebook audience can sometimes be a hit and miss as you are only able to target generalised interests and behaviour groups rather than understanding exactly who visits your page. For more info on the why, what and how of the Facebook Pixel, we run an online on-demand training course. Access the link below https://digitalmarketingclub.simplero.com/page/94505

24.01.2022 Our question today is around Facebook Live and how to use it as effectively as possible. Take a read below... Q: What is the optimum length for a Live video and what is the most effective way to use it? A: Its recommended that a live broadcast be at least 10 minutes long although it can span up to 4 hours. The longer it is, the more time it gives people to discover it and share it with their friends. If its long, reintroduce yourself during the video so as to catch new vie...wers up with who you are and what you are doing. Write a catchy description before going live - helps capture peoples attention and tells them what the broadcast is about Encourage viewers to like and share the video. The more who do so the more itll show up in peoples News Feeds Engage with commenters, and call them out by name. This helps more people to comment and engage with you which helps with your rankings on your news feed Ask viewers to subscribe to live notifications so theyll be notified of your next live broadcast. Alternatively tell fans when you are broadcasting ahead of time with a written post - one days notice is recommended Say goodbye before you wrap up and add in a date and time that you will be viewing your next live video https://digitalmarketingclub.simplero.com/ See more

19.01.2022 Facebook has made some changes to the advertising platform as a result of the data breach. Heres my take on what it means for advertisers http://smallville.com.au/facebook-responds-data-breach-mea/

19.01.2022 Our first Q&A of the year discusses a very pertinent question I received towards the end of last year around how best to plan for 2019. Read on below Question: I feel that our marketing is ad hoc. What are the main things we need to do so that its not so messy and crazy? Answer: The New Year is a perfect time to start afresh with your planning.... Some great tips are: 1. Get your house in order. By this we mean a marketing plan. 2. Review last years activity/plan and decide on what worked best for you. Dont be scared of replicating. 3. Benchmark where you currently are and what you want to achieve 4. Decide on your budget. Remember to plan for the most efficient return on investment, coupled with your KPIs. 5. Decide on the marketing channels you wish to use. Rather focus on a few channels with targeted advertising than lots of channels with a shotgun approach 6. Create a content calendar to help you decide what content to post when and where 7. Decide on a monthly email marketing strategy (one broad audience and at least one segmented audience that supports the offer you have in the other channels) 8. Review quarterly and adjust accordingly See more

18.01.2022 Have you ever heard about Instagram Nametags? That was our question of the week. Read more about this below.... Answer: ... Instagram Nametags are a quick way for people to find you on Instagram. To ACCESS your Nametag, tap the three horizontal lines top right of your profile and click on NAMETAG. To SHARE your Nametag, tap the arrow button top right of your Nametag and choose your platform of choice. To SCAN someone elses Nametag, open your own Nametag from your profile and tap Scan a nametag button at bottom of the screen. Hover the camera over the Nametag until its captured and then choose to view or follow their profile. You can also take a screenshot of a Nametag and save it. Pull this image into the camera on your nametag app or the camera on your Instagram stories and it will automatically scan for connection. Using Nametags for marketing: Print your Nametag on posters, business cards, and promotional materials for use instore or at events. When someone sees your nametag, they can easily scan it to start following you. Save your Nametag image as your phones lock screen photo, so its ready to be scanned if someone wants to connect with you. Cross-Promote your Nametag through your Facebook feed and Facebook messenger as well as through a pop up on your website. An important consideration is to educate your audience on what to do and how to go about scanning your Nametag. So consider including a little step by step guide on what to do when you set about promoting your Nametag For more info contact https://digitalmarketingclub.simplero.com/

18.01.2022 A lot of people have spoken to me recently about their desire to keep marketing simple. Like the head in hands type of chats where the body language shows that its all got overwhelming. Now, Im a fan of simplified simple marketing. And I know that its not that easy to achieve. But if we drill down from a digital advertising point of view to keep marketing simple - what do we really need? [ 347 more words ] http://bethpowell.com.au/2018/03/15/keep-marketing-simple/

17.01.2022 At last! Well, soon... Weve been waiting for Facebook Marketplace to become more business friendly and hopefully this is a first step. Facebook Marketplace will be included in the ad placement options. So, what exactly is Facebook Marketplace? Its Facebooks answer to Gumtree. Basically its local classifieds where Facebook users can buy and sell stuff. At no cost, sellers can post an item for sale. 16.01.2022 Great question from one of my Facebook Pixel Training Students. Q: What value do I apply to a custom conversion or standard event? A: When it comes to conversions for product sales the value to apply is the cost of the product. (if your product sells for $25, then the value of the conversion is $25). ... But what about applying a value to a sign up to your list or registration to your website. Heres the calculation... If 100 people sign up and 50% purchase, a sign up is worth 50% of the value. When you run an ad that promotes list sign up, each conversion is worth 50% of the value of the products, which you would apply to your custom conversion or your event. For those doing free webinars to get sign ups to a program, look at the percentage of those who sign up to the webinar and then buy the program. The value of the registration is the percentage of the total number who sign up and then go on to purchase. These calculations work if you already have your sales funnel in place. But what if your product or your funnel is new? In that case, its all about estimation. How many people do you expect will sign up and how many do you expect will buy? This depends on varying factors which you will need to analyse your results and adjust your value calculation based on what you learn.

11.01.2022 Probably, youre already using Google Analytics and maybe another analytics or data intelligence platform too. So, why would you want add Facebooks analytics platform to the mix? My simple answer is because it is so useful! But, I will explain. Facebook calls it people first analytics for an Omni-Channel World Phew! What does that even mean? Facebook is saying that it recognises that people interact with a business across different channels and, rather than measuring people in silos, its analytics platform can measure peoples behaviour across many different channels - focusing on the person rather than the channel. 11.01.2022 In our weekly Q&A session, we had a lot of interesting questions relating to the importance of keeping your Facebook Business Manager account separate from your Clients. For more detail read below... Q: Why is it so important for my client to have their own Facebook Business Manager account and to add me as a partner, rather than using my business manager account? A: By getting your Client to add you as a partner to their Business Manager account solves the problem in the fu...ture should you or your Client wish to part ways. In the instance where you have added a Client to your own Business Manager account, and they now wish to access the account, it becomes very difficult to assign passwords and login details to your Client, simply because they would then be accessing your own Business Manager account, where you run ALL your accounts from. By getting them to rather add you as a partner to their own business manager account, means they get to choose your level of access as well as being able to easily remove your access to their account in the future. Q: What is the best way to delete a Client Facebook page from Business Manager once you no longer work with them? If it is a primary page will it delete their page? A: You wont be able to delete the Client page if it is a primary page as this is the primary asset that Business Manager is structured around. The best way to do this, would be to make a different page your primary page (You can do this in settings. Note, that you need to have admin rights to do this). 07.01.2022 Our Q& A of the week explores how to check whether the Facebook pixel is working. See below... A simple way is to use the Facebook Pixel Helper Chrome Extension. It was created by Facebook specifically for the purpose and is simple to download and install. Search for it through your browser (or through the Chrome Store) and follow the prompts to install it. ... Once installed you will see the icon in the top right of your screen. How does it work? Go to your webpage - or any webpage - and if the Pixel Helper identifies a pixel, the icon changes from grey to blue and will show a green number. The number reflects the overall number of tracking events on the website. Click into the Pixel Helper and you will see the pixel identification number, page view with a green tick, and microdata automatically detected. Microdata automatically detected means Facebook looks at markup data the SEO information on your site to learn what your site is about for better advertising optimisation. Use the pixel helper to make sure youve got the correct tracking set up on your website and to troubleshoot problems with your pixel. Note that the Facebook Pixel Helper shows this information on any webpage not just yours so you can take a look at other webpages and see what they are tracking.

07.01.2022 Our Q&A session this week discusses the access to Business Manager between two parties where only one has a Business Manager account... Q: If we add a clients Facebook page to our Business Manager account, and they dont want to use Business Manager (they are a small business that dont want the extra stress of learning a new platform), will us requesting access to their page via Business Manager force them to have it as a Business Manager account instead of just their page?... A: No. Your client can make you an admin of their page, directly through their Facebook Settings. This means you will then be able to manage their Facebook page through your Business Manager (by bringing it in to your Business Manager account) whilst they will be able to manage their page through their Facebook account For more anwers to any Facebook questions you may have, please post your questions below or email them to [email protected]. 06.01.2022 Our question of the week is around Facebook Business Page verification, the what, the why and the how. Take a read below. To have your Facebook Business Page verified simply proves your authentication as a real business to Facebook users, resulting in increased trust and a potentially higher reach and engagement rate. Why is this important? Verifying your Facebook Business page means it will rank higher in Facebook searches.... Being higher on the search list means your business page has a higher chance of interaction from your audience as they know they are getting genuine information when you post and share from a verified page. This also helps boost the credibility of your business. Verification is free and takes between 48 hours to a week for a grey badge and between 3 - 45 days for a blue badge. A grey badge denotes a local business or small scale brand and a blue badge denotes a global brand, media company or public figure. To view how to earn your grey badge, sign up as a free member to our site through the link https://digitalmarketingclub.simplero.com/ Youll be given exclusive login details from which to access our video tutorial on How to verify your Facebook Business Account as well as access to our other tutorials and free resources.

03.01.2022 Our weekly Q&A looks at the difference between Geo Fencing and Location Targeting for Facebook, Instagram & Google Ad campaigns. Geo Location refers to serving ads to people who meet specific targeting criteria (eg. demographics, behaviours & interests, keywords) AND who are within a defined geographic area. Geo Fencing is where advertisers fence an area around which they show their ads to ANYONE within that fence (eg airports, stadiums and convention centres). This is set ...up in settings in Google Ads under Location Targeting whereas in Facebook and Instagram its set up at the ad set level under audiences. In both cases once youve targeted your location, you can then set up specific exclusions to be more accurate. Important: when using Geo Fencing, the minimum radius is one mile. That means you cant target a single local business without getting everyone within one mile. In this case, you would then use Geo Location to further limit users by targeting a specific demographic. An example of this was when I arrived at a city airport and was immediately shown ads in my newsfeed for a social media workshop in the city. The strategy used clearly was to Geo Fence the airport and then Geo Target to people who are Facebook admins.
