19.01.2022 APPRECIATION POST Bunnings have long been one of our biggest supporters at Dignity and we are so grateful for all that they do. In preparation for summer we needed to source fans for each of our rooms in our crisis accommodation to make sure that our guests’ stay is as comfortable as possible. A massive shout out to the Campbelltown, Gregory Hills, Narellan and Thornleigh Bunnings who all donated fans. We are so grateful for their generosity and continued support of Dignity and our guests. #corporatepartner #endhomelessness #inthistogether #community #bunnings #kindnessmatters #BasicNeeds

19.01.2022 Communities across the country will today pause and remember all those around the world who have lost their lives during conflict. Please join us at 11:00am for a minute of silence to remember. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We will remember them. Lest we forget.

19.01.2022 Thank you so much Emily (PCYC Senior Activities Organiser) for the lovely feedback. We recognised that there was an increased need for food relief throughout our communities and with the help of our amazing volunteers we are so pleased that we are able to offer people who are doing it tough additional support with delicious home-cooked meals to help get them through these tough times. 17.01.2022 Controlling behaviour can range from monitoring your daily activities to threatening your children or pets. It has no place in a healthy relationship or healthy communities. Stand up, speak out and act to eliminate men's violence against women this #WhiteRibbonDay #domesticviolenceawareness #dignitymatters

16.01.2022 In 2020, COVID-19 touched our lives in nearly every way. As isolation began, reports of all forms of violence against women and girls, particularly domestic violence, began to rise. Ending violence against women is everyone’s business. Here are ten ways you can make a difference, safely and impactfully. If you or someone you know needs help please reach out on: 1800respect.org.au telephone and online counselling available. #violenceagainstwomen #standup #SpeakUp #domesticviolenceawareness #support #inthistogether #endhomelessness #takeaction

15.01.2022 Meet Tim. For as long as he can remember, he had problems at home. His Dad was abusive and would become quite violent with his Mum and then eventually Tim became the punching bag. No longer able to stay at home, he left when he turned 17 and for the past two years he has been living between his Nan’s house and couch surfing at friends’ places wherever he could. When COVID hit, these friends weren’t as willing to open their homes and Tim was worried about his Nan being so old ...and vulnerable. He slept in a mate’s car for a few weeks before finally seeking assistance and arriving at Dignity. After engaging with our support workers and being linked with the right services in the community, Tim was able to find stable accommodation and enrol in a course at TAFE. How excited he was when he picked up the keys to his own little studio unit and he is pictured here with some of the lovely donations of linen and pillows to help get him started in his new place. Good luck Tim! #handsofhomelessness #endhomelessness #dignitymatters #itcanhappentoyou #abuse #youth #resilience #HousingFirst #hope #COVID19 See more

15.01.2022 Thank you to Alison From Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation for having a yarn with our team today about NAIDOC week and the ways we work together to support our guests. You are inspirational Alison, you work tirelessly for the community and we learn so much from you. #NAIDOC2020 #alwayswasalwayswillbe #inthistogether

14.01.2022 Corporate Volunteering at Dignity has been in full swing over the last few months. With no onsite volunteering for the majority of 2020 we really needed help from our corporate friends and the team at First Class Valet Pty Ltd were so amazing. They split their whole team over 4 weeks to support us, from cooking to sorting donations to filling skips with rubbish and even putting all our brand-new donated fans together. No job was too big or too small. #endhomelessness #volunteer #HousingFirst #inthistogether

13.01.2022 With more than 300 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples accommodated by Dignity in the past 12 months, we want to acknowledge and thank the specialised support and case management services of our industry partners including Tharawal in Sydney’s Southwest. We would also like to acknowledge our Food Relief Program partner at South West Multicultural and Community Centre for helping us offer additional support of home cooked meals to people in need within the community. #collaboration #NAIDOC2020 #inthistogether #dignitymatters #alwayswasalwayswillbe
