This week it was a reggae/jazz style tune that Dilip and his wife Carolyn had first started writing 4 years ago in NYC, but only managed to complete during the Covid shutdown. 07.01.2022 Tonight, multi-genre, multi-generational Freo based rhythm band Dilip 'n the Davs will be taking centre stage at Fremantle Navy Club as part of the final week o...f Hidden Treasures for 2020. An established feature on the WA music scene, with over 650 performances at venues and festivals, 7 albums and several WAM nominations and awards, this is a band that consistently delivers up-tempo, hi-velocity live shows. How do you feel about the return to live music in Fremantle? Well this is Music City WA, so it's only right that live music has made its return. I have noticed much better crowds at the Freo venues I have been playing at. It's as if folks have returned with a renewed appreciation for what was taken away from them for some time. What do you love most about Hidden Treasures? As much as it's about the music, it's also very much about the community. One aspect I particularly love is the way former local bands are invited to perform - bands that haven't played for years suddenly have to renew their musical relationships. Band supporters return and former friendships renew. Now thats pure gold! Catch them tonight at 9:40PM at The Navy Club!
