23.01.2022 Hi guys, unfortunately I don't have great news. The High School has confirmed that they do not want outside users to enter school property during school hours during the current covid-19 situation. This means Dimples KinderGym classes will not be able to proceed as planned at the beginning of Term 3. Its very disappointing and frustrating, but we have no choice but to abide by this rule. I am offering refunds to those people who are currently in credit, as I feel I have made ...everyone hang on long enough. If you would like to arrange a refund of your credits, please get in touch with me at [email protected] or 0408811874. Alternatively, you can hang on to your credits for when we restart, bearing in mind that this situation could continue until next year. I'm so sorry guys. I miss all those kiddies so much and they must be busting at the seams to practise gym skills..........I know I am. On a more positive note, the Gymnastics component of Healesville Gymnastics Centre has been given the green light to begin classes in Term 3. These will obviously be outside school hours, so abide by the High Schools wishes. Dru has already I believe been in contact with past gymnast participants about this. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries or questions. Hope you are all well. I am keeping myself busy running, riding my bike and doing lots of gardening and landscaping at home. Trying not to feel useless, and I think I'm succeeding for now baha. Cheers, Coach Milli Troon.
17.01.2022 Just a reminder guys that Gymnastics classes will not re-launch this evening as planned due to the current Stage 3 restrictions relating to Covid-19. I'm sorry to post this message so late. I know Dru has been in touch with booked participants individually to confirm, but I wanted to follow up on this for other interested parties (ie.KinderGym families, friends, people contemplating enrolment). At this stage, we will have to see out the 6 week lock down and towards the end of... it we will be in touch with the school about our next steps forward (let's hope it's forwards and not backwards). I hope you are all ok and making the best of this difficult situation. Keep yourself active! Take walks, bike rides and catch up on pesky jobs. This won't last forever. Be in touch when I have more info to give. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Cheers, Coach Milli See more
16.01.2022 Hi everyone, A very long time between posts, my apologies. Like many of you, the covid-19 situation has been tricky and home schooling has taken up much of my time. I hope you are all coping and in good spirits still. With restrictions recently eased somewhat, Dru and I are beginning to see a timeline for restarting classes emerge. We will be listening in on an important Webinar with Gymnastics Australia today to learn more about our obligations and restrictions. As you know..., gymnastics/kindergym classes presents all manner of problems with trying to enforce safe distancing, sterilising surfaces between contact, minimising numbers, while still being able to cover costs. Hopefully today we will have things a bit more clarified and be able to give you all more absolute information on start back and what it will look like. Thanks to you all for your patience. Looking forward to getting back to some sort of normality soon. Cheers, Milli Troon
10.01.2022 Update: As of this morning, we have been advised by Healesville High School that the Community Centre will be closed beginning tomorrow (Tues 17th March). This means classes until the end of Term 1 will unfortunately be cancelled. We understand that many of you have paid fees for the full term in advance. Please be patient while we work towards a solution for compensation of missed classes. As you all know, this is a very unusual community situation to work through. In the meantime, stay happy and healthy. More information coming soon............apologies for inconvenience and any confusion. Regards, Milli Troon
06.01.2022 Hi guys, Just wanted to update you all on the latest news with regards to restarting Gymnastics and KinderGym in the midst of Covid-19. At this stage, the Victorian State Government has suggested that of Monday July 22nd indoor sports/Community Centre can re-open under strict guidelines. These guidelines include allowing a maximum of 20 people in the gymnasium and maintaining 4m2 distancing between each person. I still don't know if one parent and child constitutes "a" person... or not yet. As you can imagine, the logistics involved in implementing and enforcing this is very difficult in our sport. KinderGym aged children especially, don't really understand the need for distancing. Exploring freely and socially interacting with other children is, after all, what KinderGym is about. The pieces of equipment in the room are numerous and the process of sanitising between classes and even between individual use are tasks Dru and I are trying to work through. As the Gymnasium is in the Healesville High School Community Centre, we are obliged to follow whatever guidelines they set for user groups of their buildings. I have contacted the Principal Allan Rennick and he is unable to confirm when the Community Centre will re-open or when we will have access to the gymnasium. So, in dreary conclusion, we have no proposed start back date for Healesville Gymnastics Centre at this stage. We will endeavour to give you further updates as we get them. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further enquiries. And forgive me for lack of any online class activities. I did ponder the prospect, but for such a hands on/face to face sport, I really couldn't see how it could be done. Not to mention, I have my hands full with this very challenging homeschooling business, as I'm sure many of you have too. Thank you so much for your patience. I look forward to seeing you all sometime soon. Your class credits have been stored and documented ready for use when we re-open. Cheers, Milli Troon.
05.01.2022 Dru and I have been in touch with the Healesville High School regarding the proposed date for re-opening of the Community Centre to outside users. We were hopeful of being able to restart at the beginning of Term 3. However, the High School is not yet able to confirm with any certainty that this can happen. With the new spike in Victorian cases recently, we may have to be prepared for further delay unfortunately. Will post more news when I have it. Sorry guys, what a drag! Coach Milli
