11.01.2022 Boydy and his team the South Alabama Jaguars will host Southeast Missouri in a three-game series this weekend at Stanky Field to open the 2021 season. The series will kick off with game one on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by game two on Saturday at 2 p.m. First pitch for the series finale is set for 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon. All three games will be broadcast live on Sports Talk 99.5 FM in Mobile, and also available through the iHeart radio app. Sunday's game will be streamed ...live and available through ESPN+ South Alabama was originally scheduled to open the season on the road in a round-robin tournament hosted by Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, Louisiana, which included a doubleheader on Saturday, but will now open the 2021 season at Stanky Field with three games over a three-day stretch. 10.01.2022 NOTHING HAS CHANGED AT THIS STAGE... Good afternoon Members Some of you would have seen today that the Victorian Government has begun setting out the roadmap or the reduction of restrictions from COVID-19.... So what does that mean for baseball I hear you ask? We are still under the guidance and direction from Baseball Victoria on a return to baseball activities for the club, so at the moment we are still required to obey to the conditions of no club related activities or training sessions until further notice. Unfortunately this still means the facilities at KH Wearne Reserve including the field and the batting cages are off limits until we are given the OK for a return to activities. We as a club ask for this to be adhered to by members as any breaching of these guidelines could be met with sanctions from Baseball Victoria. Whilst we don't know what these return to activities will look like , we are sure that there will be some general requirements for social distancing, restrictions on numbers for training and activities and cleanliness standards that will need to be adhered to. The positive news is that Baseball Victoria are having weekly updates between the winter associations and all the clubs on a Tuesday night to provide updates on the progress and possible commencement of the Winter Season for 2020. The DBA are having a meeting with all Presidents and Secretaries Wednesday night.The latest update from Baseball Victoria is on their website www.baseballvictoria.com.au. We expect to have some more information regarding club activities after this Wednesday. As soon as we have further updates on both a return to activities and a return to game for the Winter 2020 season we will communicate this out. In the meantime, we ask that you all stay safe and look after yourselves and your families

05.01.2022 It is with great sadness I inform you all of the sudden passing of our valued club member Heather Lawler, Wednesday night. Heather dedicated many years of service to the club, throughout her son Robbie’s playing years and continuing on to support the club long after he retired due to injury. She would apply herself to changing scoring roles each season, wherever she was needed, it did not matter which Senior Grade, she would always offer her valuable Saturday afternoons every Winter. I will miss her call every March to remind me to put her name down to score for the upcoming season. Heather certainly made a significant contribution and will be sadly missed. We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Robbie and family.

03.01.2022 CANCELLATION OF DBA SENIOR & JUNIOR WINTER SEASON Dandenong Baseball Association this morning informed our clubs and Baseball Victoria of its decision to cance...l the 2020 Winter season. To all Dandenong Baseball Association members and friends. It is with much sadness and regret that I announce on behalf of the DBA Board that the 2020 senior/junior Winter baseball season will be cancelled as of Monday the 6th of July. I would like to thank all members of the baseball community for their patience in these trying times. This decision has not been made lightly, and we hope that you all respect our decision. The DBA board have made every endeavour to try and run some form of a season, but with the recent events around COVID 19, it is making it impossible for us to move forward for a safe season. We have had weekly meetings with BV, and constant meetings with our clubs to discuss our options. We believe our decision to cancel the 2020 season is the right decision for our members to stay safe. We believe it is just not viable for the clubs to run a junior season due to the cost or the workload involved. And concerns about the health of members of the baseball community outweigh any desire to get a game played. If anything, restrictions seem likely to be increased. MWBL and GBA has also come to similar conclusions, and is in the process of notifying their members. I hope everyone stays healthy and safe as we look forward to a bigger and better season in 2021.
