21.01.2022 World Teachers' Day this year will also include the amazing work of our Education Support Staff. We are choosing to collaborate in the spirit of the year that it has been and how we have all banded together to work as ONE . This is a chance to recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions the teachers and Education Support Staff have made in Victorian communities, as they help to teach the future. We thank you all for making Dingley Primary School the place to be!

20.01.2022 On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we will remember those who fought for our tomorrow. #WeRememberThem

18.01.2022 It is with great disappointment that we publish this post this afternoon. We witnessed many families NOT using the crossing, therefore taking considerable risks with traffic before and after school, despite the reminders via Compass. We strongly urge you all to remind your child/ren about the importance of always using the Children's Crossings. A number of children and parents have been seen crossing the road at a distance from the crossing. This is extremely dangerous. ...If you use the Woolworths parking facilities before and/or after school, please ensure your child/ren are supervised when walking through the carpark. Your assistance in ensuring all children are safe when travelling to and from school is greatly appreciated.

18.01.2022 This Friday 30th October, students will be encouraged to wear a splash of red in recognition of ‘Day for Daniel’. Day for Daniel is Australia’s largest day of action to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention. It is held annually and honours the memory of Daniel Morcombe.

09.01.2022 SCHOOL ZONE Dear Parents, Rosanne and I have had a number of conversations with concerned parents regarding the unsafe behaviours of parents and carers in front of the school over the past three days.... We are aware of a parent driving through the Children's Crossing on Monday whilst the supervisor was assisting children on the road - the car did not stop at all. We have seen parents crossing the road between the two Children's Crossing - a traffic offence that occurs a fine. Pedestrians MUST use the Children's Crossing when the flags are on display. There have also been multiple parents doing U-turns into traffic along Marcus Road. All of these behaviours are putting the lives of our children at considerable risk. The City of Kingston will be actively monitoring driver behaviour whilst the School Zone is active (8:00-9:30am and 2:30-4:00pm). Please ensure you are making safe decisions when driving and walking your children to and from the school. Children are able to enter the school from 8:45am each morning when the yard is supervised. Dropping your children off between 8:45am and 9:00am will ease the congestion in front of the school. Thank you for your assistance in ensuring ALL children are safe and that we are modelling appropriate behaviours to our children at all times. Andrew Holmes PRINCIPAL

09.01.2022 Term 4 Update... Dear Families and Staff, Yesterday we learned that all primary year levels will be allowed to return to on-site learning from Monday 12 October. Like so many parents and staff, I am thrilled that we will have all of our students together again, giving us time to get back into our usual teaching and learning structures, as well as prepare the kids for 2021.... The process from now: 1. DET will send principals an Operations Guide with the full details of the announcement. It is anticipated that this will be sent this week. All Government Schools must follow this guide. 2. Rosanne and I will meet to determine how we at Dingley Primary School will implement what is in the Operations Guide, liaising with our wider leadership team where necessary. 3. Communicate the return to on-site learning with plenty of time to spare for our families. *Please remember, remote learning continues for all students in Prep to Year 6 from Monday 5 - Friday 9 October. Enjoy your week, Andrew

04.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day! It’s a national day of action that reminds Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in their world is struggling with life’s ups and downs. The message for R U OK? Day 2020 is: 'THERE'S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?' 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. For more information and tips on how to start and follow through on the conversation, please visit the website: https://www.ruok.org.au/join-r-u-ok-day Please enjoy this video of the DPS staff showing our community what they’re doing at home to stay positive, active and ok
