01.01.2022 And we're back!! This fin box replacement was the most technical fix I've done to date and I just want to give a shoutout to @grampsdingrepair for their expertise. If you're ever in need of a board repair in Hawaii, hit them up! So I've recorded the original measurements pertaining to the original fin box, removed the fin box (taking the fin out prior was a task and a half), and routered the cavity. Then shaped a piece of foam to fit and glassed it in.... Next Ive sketched an outline of the fin box, adjusted the router to the depth of the box and went for it. Then used some old fins to ensure correct angles while the resin was curing Pretty much then just glassed and sanded until she was ideal (using the fin box stickers to save the insertion points). And then Ive drilled insanely carefully through the glass above insertion points and immediately stopped when it had broken through. I was so careful while doing this to prevent damaging the fin box and was successful in this. (I'm not sure if this is how other people do it, but "if it's stupid and works, it ain't stupid" ) Tidied her up, cleaned out the boxes and she's good to go!!! Yewww this one for @jophessonjohn
