21.01.2022 Today my lovely new quilt customer Carmel came to collect her very first quilt. She was so excited! She has a new passion and is half way through piecing her second quilt already.
17.01.2022 Big day in my studio today, doing a fabulous William Morris quilt for Bex. Photos to follow after she picks it up. Each pass was over an hour and used more than one full M class bobbin, 11 bobbins over the quilt. An M class bobbin is twice the size of a standard sewing machine bobbin. Phew!
16.01.2022 Here’s The lovely William Morris quilt that Bex made. The Quilting pattern is called Grandma’s roses.
13.01.2022 Very excited to now be stocking Matilda's Own Pure wool and Bamboo wadding. I also have economy priced Cotton wadding in stock.
11.01.2022 Ever wondered what to do with all those little bitsof left over batting from a quilt? Well, you can piece them together, either using a zig zag stitch on your machine. Just butt them up against each other, try not to overlap them. Stitch them out and voila! New Batting. Believe me, you will not feel the join. OR.... Use a joining tape, commercially available or just ask me for a bit. Make them into microwave bowl holders, using jut two 10 (25 cm) pieces of fabric.... I have simple instructions for these if you are interested. Use them for bags. I have several patterns for these. Table runners. Wall hangings Mug rugs Cup holders Trivets Christmas decorations Quilted bed socks Dog beds Stuffing for model dolls or bears Cushions. The list goes on. Pinterest is a great source of inspiration. Type in small quilted projects. If you would like to save a bit of money on your next quilt you bring me, ask me to piece some smaller bits.
10.01.2022 Every now and then we all need to sew in front of a big window and watch the rain.
10.01.2022 This past week has been a bit of a blur. Two trips to Braidwood to help clean and organise our lovely shed, 100 masks made and posted and a couple or three quilts quilted and five picked up. Actually two charity quilts quilted in the last two days, trimmed and bound. One very special personal quilt quilted, bound and hand sewn too. Here are some of the mask recipients. No names for obvious reasons.

07.01.2022 This baby quilt has just been gifted to a yet in-named baby girl for our friends Leah and Tris. Nice to have a little visit today and to meet their little JuneBug. That's what I'm calling her for now!
07.01.2022 What have you been doing while in isolation or social distancing? I know- you have all been piecing, or cleaning your cupboards of quilt tops-still-to-be-quilted. I have just loaded the 89th quilt of the year. Not bad considering I had six weeks off with various ailments! Here's a sneak peak at half of them. Well done everyone and thank you.

01.01.2022 Ever wondered what micro quilting was? This is a video of 18 stitches per inch. Look at the comments for a photo is of a whole block, which has approximately 2000 stitches per block. Love the look!
