24.01.2022 Shoulder Day One: although this is not customised for the individual and doesnt take into account posture or shoulder issues here is a great example to maximise your time in the gym of a superset to hit your shoulders with two compound exercises with 4x8 of a seated Dumbbell military press super set keep your back flat try not to do a chest press, and 8 x Wide Grip bent over barbell rows or in case you have access, like the video a T-bar row machine to hit rear delts. The best way to get the most out of your training sessions in the gym is to pair similar muscle group exercises together to save a duck load of time !!! 11.01.2022 Change and the unknown can be scary af. It can force you into situations where you have to be the lion and adapt, to be able to transform yourself into the person you are meant to be. It makes you humble, grateful for the things that we take for granted; your health and the roof over your head. Today, at 12pm the gym has closed indefinitely. Although I knew it was coming, nothing can truly prepare you; and I am shocked. We do not know how long the gym will be closed, for 6mon...ths. I have met some amazing clients and members at Fitness First Kings cross, which I am so grateful for. Our gym represents a safe haven for some; a place where they can build their bodies and minds to become someone that they never thought they could be; both mentally and physically. I want to thank those who have trained with me and let me help you be the proof. To assist through this tough time, I will be conducting training sessions and helping people to better themselves through training and nutrition at Rushcutters Bay Park until I can either get back in the gym or start a whole new game. I will be posting workout videos. I know this is just another hurdle that life throws at you, but Im not a little pussy and there are people in much worse positions than me with what is going on. 10.01.2022 Although I had a huge amount of fun it was an interesting 3 months with not being able to train clients indoors or being able to buy proper gym equipment or even open up a studio, I wont miss moving 200kgs of gym equipment at 4:30am each day Im an expert on trolleys after breaking 4 . I want to say a big thanks to Ben Stanley for the use of his garage to store equipment in, myself and my clients thank you for helping us keep on our health and fitness journey. 09.01.2022 After the initial foundation program with a client of where I help the client iron out any kinks In their physique aka posture biomechanics learn key lifts and exercises, client setting up in the gym without me etc. The client then starts a programming phase. Progressive overload is a top priority of mine when working with a client and one of the main objectives in programming. But what is progressive overload?? Progressive overload requires a gradual increase in volume, inte...nsity, frequency or time in order to achieve the targeted goal of the client. In this context, volume and intensity are defined as follows: Volume is the total number of repetitions multiplied by the resistance used as performed in specific periods of time. Ways to increase progressive overload. Add more sets. Add more reps. Add more weight. Improve biomechanics so there is better range of motion and more muscle fibres being recruited in a particular exercise. Increase training frequency. Decrease rest times. 06.01.2022 Thanks for such a great turnout on the boat this year! For a get together that was meant to be a covid numbers max 30 in Rush cutters Bay park because of covid restrictions I needed a plan B a boat cruise was the next best option. 4 weeks later the party happened 2 DJs, a dodgy af boat crew that would sell your liver for $5.00, 80 guys and some stupid inflatables I shouldn’t have bought lol. We ended up with 80 amazing past present clients, partners and friends coming o...ut for a good time. This year has been a bit of a sudden change from the gym to parks to garages or under hanging roofs to get out of the rain, and I never thought it would turn out this way, however ending a wtaf year with such an amazing get-together makes it all worth it. We couldn’t get the group photo as there were literally police helicopters above making that a little risky I’ve already got people asking for another one! So we can get that done on the next one See more
