15.01.2022 Covid19 is affecting much of life and unfortunately vasectomy during Covid19 is an elective procedures meaning it is not time critical and must be paused during this time. I am still consulting using video and telephone telehealth sessions to talk about vasectomy and mens health. Book in online here. When restrictions are lifted, Direct Access Vasectomy will be right back to offering safe comfortable vasectomies for men in Northern Melbourne.... Stay safe, wash your hands and keep your social distance! https://youtu.be/m1jTVgh-Yj8

10.01.2022 Lock down stage 4 is tough, we just need to stay safe and get through it. Vasectomy is not a time urgent procedure and in medical speak is a Category 3 elective procedure. As a result vasectomy is paused during this six week lock down. You are still welcome to book to discuss the procedure, ask any questions or concerns and we can book for later in the year - obviously still a fluid situation!. For men who have had a vasectomy with us we are still open if you need to discuss anything and you can still drop your follow up semen test to the pathology laboratory. Dr Simon Wilson

08.01.2022 After the Covid19 close down, we are carefully re-opening for vasectomies. There are less people in the waiting room due to other types of consultations being on telehealth, we are well supplied for masks and PPE and we are cautious in reducing risk as we re-open. We are offering initial consultations via telehealth then booking the procedure for a later day.

07.01.2022 BE. PROUD. OF. YOUR. CHOICES. We want to educate and empower young Victorians to be proud of their sexual and reproductive health choices. So we've teamed ...up with The Centre For Excellence in Rural Sexual Health part of University of Melbourne - Department of Rural Health and Youth Affairs Council Victoria to adress the sexual health issues young people care about - from privacy and confidentiality, STI tests, contraception to pregnancy options and abortion. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for exciting new videos and materials from our "Be Proud of your Choices" campaign.

03.01.2022 Unplanned pregnancy is common - one in two pregnancies in Australia are unplanned with the most common outcome being carrying that pregnancy to term and becoming parents. Second most common is termination of the pregnancy, then miscarriage then adoption. Once a plan has been made then we can next discuss ongoing contraception as the couple is obviously fertile! If there is no further need for fertility then this can be a great chance for the man to step up and suggest he take responsibility for the contraception by choosing vasectomy.
